The Board of Aldermen of the city of Wichita Falls Texas,met in regular sea
session on the above date for the transaction of the business of the city,
with Mayor J,B,Marlow,presiding and with the following officers present,
Aldermen,J,F,Reed,J,L,Lea jr,J,M,McFall,C,E,McCutchen,and M,A,Bundy,
City Atty Mathis,City Clerk Walkup,City Marshal Smith,Fire Chief McClure,
and acting City Engineer Donald,in attendance.

AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO THE WICHITA VALLEY RAILWAY COMPANY; N CORPORATION,
AFRANCHISE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SIDING OR SWITCH TRACK ON,ALONG,AND
ACROSS CERTAIN STREETS AND ALLEYS IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,TEXAS;
Nas on motion of Alderman Lea seconded by Alderman MaFall,put on its first
reading and passed by the following Yea and Nay vote, Alderman Reed Yea,
Alderman Lea Yea,Alderman McFall Yea,Alderman MoCutchen Yea, and Alderman
Bundy Yea. Mayor Marlow then declared Ordinance No 255 passed on its first
reading by the unanimous vote of all the Aldermen of the city voting Yea.

Denver Avenue to the westeide of Baylor Avenue,whereupon Alderman McFall

Alderman Reed moved that on and after march first 1919 that the sale of
Cemetery Lots be made through the City Clerks Office,and that no permits be
granted to dig Graves until Lots are fully paid for,which motion was seconde
by Alderman McCutchen,and carried.

Marlow moved that Alderman Reed be authorized to prepare Deeds for Cemetery

motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried.

filling station for Two Hundred Dollars($200.00), whereupon Alderman Lea
moved that the report be approved, the motion was seconded by Alderman

Motion was made by Alderman Bundy and seconded by Alderman Lea that a resoi
lution declaring the result of an Election held on the 15th day of February
1919 for the issuance of Seventy Five Thousand ($75,000.00) Dollars, City of
Wichita Falls BondSfor the purpose of,Street Improvement Mad Storm Sewers
necessary therewith. The motion carried by the following Yea and Nay Votes:
Alderman Reed-Yea, Alderman Lea-Fea, Alderman McFall-Yea, and Alderman Bundy
Yea. Mayor Marlow then declared the following resolution adapted.
WHERE AS: at a meeting of the Board of Alderman of the city of Wichita
Falls, Texas held on the 20th day of February A.D. 1919, came on to be
condidered the returns of an Election held on the 15th day of February
A.D. 1919, to determine whether or notthe Board of Aldermen of the City
of Wichita Falls, Texas be authorized to issue Bonds of said City in the
sum of Seventy Five Thousand ($75,000.00) Dollars, payable forty(40) Years
after date with option of redeeming same at any time after ten (10) years
time, bearing interest at the rate of five per centum (5%) per Annum, in-
terest payable semi-annully, and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the inter-
est of said bonds and to create a Sinking Fund sufficient to redeem them at
maturity for the purpose of Street Improvement and Storm Sewer Connections'
therewith, in the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas under the
provision of the Charter of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, adopted Dec-
cumber A.D. 191S. And it appearin# that said Election was in all respects
lawfully held and said returns fully and legally made, and that there were
cast at said Election 120 Votes, of which 116 were cast for the issuance
of bonds and there were cast 4 against the issuance of bonds. It is there-
fore ordered and declared that the proposition to issue said bonds and levy
said tax was sustained byQmajority of the qualified property tax payers,
voting at said Election, and that the Board of Alderman of said City is
authorized to issue said bonds and levy said assessment and collect said
tax.
Alderman Bundy moved that the City b1tl$'be paid as per O.S. of the finance
commitee. Which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried.
The Board of Alderman then adjourned.
