Min 03/13/1919 Wichita Falls, Texas, March 13, 1919. The Board of Alderman of the City Of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular session on the above date, for the transaction of the business of the City, With Mayor J.B. Marlow presiding, and with the following officers present, Aldermen, J.F. need, J.L. Lea Jr., iM iFall, and M.A. Bundy, City Attorney Mathis, City Clerk Walkup, City Marshal Smith, Fire Chief McClure, and acting City Engineer Donald, in attendac.oe. Minutes of the last regular session were read and approved. Alderman Lea moved that Lisle Dunning Construction Company be per- mitted to place a dead man on Indiana Ave. , South of eighth street near the building now under construction on the corner of eighth and Indiana Ave., under the usual previsions, to wit: That the said Lisle Dunning Construction Company its legal represenatives, administrators, successors, and assigns shall hold the City harm- less from any damages that may be caused by the Placing or main- tenance of said dead man, and removal of same upon completion of said building, and to replace the street in proper condition, which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall, and carried. Alderman McFall moved that the Lisle Dunning Construction Company be permitted to erect a temrors ^y tool house at the South East corner of 12th street and Indiana Ave., under the usual provisions to wit: That the Lisle Dunning Construction Company, its legal represenatives, administrators, successors, and assigns hold the City harmless from any damages that may be caused by the construc- tion or maintenance of said house. Which motion was seconded by Alderman Reed, and carried. , Alderman Lea moved that Frankfort, Einar. any be granted two weeks time to remove wooden stairway of building at 613 7th street, which motion was seconded by Alderman Reed and carried. Alderman Reed moved that the City accept deed from Scotland Realty "ompany to Scotland Park, which motion was seconded by Alderman McFa11_and carried. Which motion was seconded by AldermanEVadyi And tarried. 1 ' Alderman Reed moved that Alderman Bundy be authorized to employ a traffic officer for crossings on 8th Street and Scott Ave. , pro- vided the contractors now constructing buildings on the corner of 8th Street and Scott Ave., pay the expense of daid officer. Which motion was seconded by Alderman Lea and carried. Alderman Peed moved that the salary of George Dobson be raised ;$10.00 per month, commencing March 1, 1919. Which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy, and carried. ORDINANCE NO 258. A'1 ORDINANCE ADOPTING FORM OF BOND,FIXING THE PLACE OF PAYMENT AND AUTHORISING THE EXECUTION OF SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS BONDS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,TEXAS, FOR STREET IMPROVEL NT PURPOSES, AU'_HORIZED BY AN ELECTION HELD FEBANARY 15, 1919, AND $LIKING PROVISION FOR A TAX FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST THEREOF. Was on motion of Alderman Reed seconded by Alderman Lea, put on its second reading, and Passed by the following yea and nay votes; Alderman Reed yea., Alderman Lea yea, Alderman McFall yea, and Alderman Bundy yea. Mayor Marlow then declared Ordinance No 258 passed on its second reading by the unanimous vote of all the Aldermen of the City present voting yea. ORDINANCE NO 259. AN ORDINANCE GIVING AND GRANTING UNTO THE WICHITA FALLS WATER COMPANY,ITS SUCESSORS, ASSIGNS AND LESSEES, THE RIGHT TO INCREASE THEIR WATER RATES AND REPEALING SO MUCH OF ORDINANCE NO 18 OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,TEXAS,AS REFERS TO WATER RATES. Was on motion of Alderman Lea seconded by Alderman McFall, potion its second reading, and paseed by the following yea and nay votes: Alderman Reed yea, Alderman Lea yea, Alder- man McFall yea, and Alderman Bundy yea. Mayor Marlow then declared Ordinance No 259 passed on its second reading by the unanimous vote of all the Aldermen of the City,cresent,voting yea. Alderman Lea moved that the Mayor be authorized to accent contract submitted by the Magnolia Petroleum Company, for lease of ground at foot of Ohio Ave and 14th Street, and to file same with City Clerk. Which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall, and carried. • W. Newton Maer came before the board and presented a petition signed by himself, C.A. Hartsook, J.41. Kemp, and C.S. Shelton, asking that Grant Ave., be paved between 9th and 10th streets, and agreeing to pay all costs of said paving, whereupon Alderman McFall moved that the petition be received and filed.
