The Board of Aldermen of the City of aichita Falls,Texas,met in regular
session on the above date for the transaction of the business of the City,
with Mayor J,B,Marlow presiding,and with the following officers present,
Aldermen J,F,Reed,J,M,McFall,J,L,Lea jr,C,E,McCutchen and M,A,Bundy,
City Atty Mathis,City Clerk .alkup,City Marshal Smith,Fire Chief McClure and
acting City Engineer Donald in attendance.

The Board then proceeded to canvass the returns of Election held on the first
day—of April 1919,for the election of City Officers,which showed as follows,
For Alderman full term, two years, H,Pinley, Weldon, received 131 votes.

Alderman Lea then moved that H,F,Weldon, J,M,McFall and J.F,Reed,be declared
elected Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls,Texas, for the full term of two
years, that W,S,Curlee,be declared elected Alderman of the City of Wichita X
Falls,Texas, for unexpired term of one year,and that H,J,Anderson be declared
elected Tax Assessor and Collector,for unexpired term of one year,which
motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy, and carried.

Alderman McCutchen moved that the matter of water and lights for park at the
Baptist Church at the corner of Kemp Boulevard and Avenue B,be refered to
the Public Utilities Committee,whieh motion was seconded by Alderman McFall
and carried.

The Oath of Office was then administered to all the newly elected Officers
by Mayor Marlow, and were seated with the Board.

M,D,Walker and M,Staniforth, and asked that a twenty foot street along the
/ north end of the east half of block five and part of the west half of block
four,Southland Addition to the City of wichita Falle,Texas, be Closed,
Whereupon Alderman Reed moved that said twenty foot street be closed under
. the provision that the said Walker and Staniforth dedicate a sixty foot
street from the north end of Alma street to eleventh street,and also to
Deed to the City angle on west end of lot sixteen in Block 263, 0ity of
wichita Falls,Texas,for Park purposes,which motion was seconded by
Alderman McFall and carried.

Dan Oster,came before the Board and presented a petition signed by himself
and sixteen others,asking that Holliday street be paved from tenth street to
seventeenth street, whereupon Alderman Bundy moved that the petition be
received and filed,Which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried,

AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ANY AND ALL ORDINANCES HERETOFORE PASSED PROHIBITING
THE ERECTION,MAINTENANCE AND USE OF TENTS WITHIN THE FIRE LIMITS OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,TEXAS, was on motion of Alderman Reed Seconded by
Alderman Bundy, put oft its third reading and passed by the following yea
and nay vote, Alderman Reed Yea, Alderman Bundy Yea, Alderman Weldon Yea,
and Alderman Curlee Yea, Mayor Marlow then declared Ordinance No 260,
passed on its third and final reading by the unanimous vote of all the
Aldermen of the City present voting yea.

ORDINANCE N0 261.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO 135 RELATING TO THE OFFICE,OF FIRE
MARSHAL AND PROVIDING FOR A CIVIL ACTION AGAINST ANY PERSON OR PERSONS
RESPONSIBLE OR PARTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY FIRE OR FIRES IN THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS,TEXAS, was on motion of Alderman Bundy seconded by Alderman
Weldon,put on its third reading and passed naxita by the following yea and
nay vote, Alderman Bundy Yea, Alderman Weldon Yea, and Alderman Curlee Yea,
Mayor Marlow then declared Ordinance No 261 passed on its third and final
reading,by the unanimuos vote of all the Aldermen of the City present voting
yea.

ORDINANCE NO 262.
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE BUSINESS OF ITINERANT VENDORS OF GOODS WARES
AND MERCHANDISE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY, was on motion of Alderman Bundy
seconded by Alderman Curlee,put on its second reading and passed by the
following yea and nay vote, Alderman Bundy Yea, Alderman Weldon Yea,and
Alderman Curlee Yea, Mayor Marlow then declared Ordinance No 262" passed on
its second reading by the unanimous vote of all the Aldermen of the City
present voting yea.

Alderman Bundy moved that Alderman J,F,Reed be Elected Mayor Pro Tem,for
the ensueing year,which motion was seconded by Alderman Weldon and carried.

Alderman Bundy moved that the City Clerk draw warrants to pay election
officers for holding election April first 1919, which motion was seconded
by Alderman Weldon and carried.

Alderman Weldon moved thaOatter of fire plugs at the corner of Virginia
and Galveston streets,and across the River,be refered to the Public Utilities'
committee and the Fire Marshal,with power to act, which motion was seconded
by Alderman Bundy and carried.
