The Board of Aldermen of the—City of Wichita Falls Texas, met in regular Session on the above date for the transaction of the business of the City, with mayor J,B,Marlow,presiding,and with the following officers present, Aldermen J,F,Reed,J,M,McFall,M,A,Bundy, H,F,Weldon and W,S,Curlee, City attorney Mathis City Clerk Walkup,City Marshal Smith, Fire Chief McClure and Acting City Engineer Donald in Attendance, o m o Minutes of the last regular session were read and approved. o 0 o Chas Hill Came before the Board and asked permission to move a gasoline filling station from 610 ninth street to 813 ninth street,whereupon aldermanMcFall moved that the request be granted under the usual provisions To wit:that the said Chas Hill his Administrators, Successors and Assigns, shall hold the City harmless from any and all damages that may be caused removal,Installation and maiantenance of said gasoline filling station, and to remove same upon notice of the Board of Aldermen and replace the side walks in proper condition,which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried. o 0 0 Alderman Curlee moved that the City Board of health take immediate action and Such steps as necessary to remove the menace to tLe health of the City caused by the erection of tents in the City and not making the necessary sanitary provisions,which motion was seconded,by Alderman McFall and carried. o 0 0 Alderman Bundy moved that the Fire Marshal be instructed to remove the wooden building occupied by A,C,Page & Co,at 603 Ohio Avenue which motion wa was seconded by Alderman Reed and carried. o 0 0 Alderman McFall moved that the contract entered into between Alderman Reed and C,R,Nichols,be approved,and that the Mayor be authorized to sign said contract in dunlicate,which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried o 0 0 Alderman McFall moved that Alderman Reed be authorized to purchase a new trash Wagon which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried. o 0 0 H,A,Wall came before the Board and asked permission to install a gasoline filling station at 903 Lamar Avenue,whereupon Alderman Weldon moved that the request be granted under the usual provisions,To wit: that the said H,A Wall his Administrators,Successors and Assigns,shall hold the City harmless from any and all damages that may be caused by the installation and maintenance "� of said gasoline filling station and to remove same upon notice of the Board of Aldermen and to replace the side walk in proper condition, which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried. o 0 0 ORDINANCE NO 257, AN ORDINANCE giving and granting unto the Wichita Falls Traction Company, its Successors,Assigns and Lessees,the right to operate,construct and maintain a street car line over and along certain streets of the 0ity of Wichita Falls,Texas,and repealing so much of ordinances nos 108 and 187 of the City of Wichita Falls,Texas,as requires the Wichita Falls Traction Co, its Successors,Assigns and Lessees,to pave or grade any .part of the streets of Wichita Falls,occupied by said street railway belonging to the MS Wichita Falls,Traction Company,and so muchiaid ordinances as requires the payment of a gross receipts tax of two per cent•to the City when its EDdywxxtx population reaches twenty five thousand and providing that a gross receipts tax of two per cent shall be paid by said Wichita Falls Traction Company, its Successors,Assigns and Lessees when its net earnings,exclusive of all taxes paid,shall amount to eight per cent on the amount of its actual investment, was on motion of Alderman Reed seconded by Alderman Curlee, put put on its second reading and passed by the following yea and nay vote, Alderman Reed Yea,Alderman McFall,Yea,Alderman Bundy,Yea, Alderman Weldon,Yea and Alderman Curlee,Yea, Mayor Marlow t en declarednOrdinance No 257,passed on its second reading by the unanimouf all the Aldermen voting yea. o 0 0 ORDINANCE NO 263, AN ORDINANCE adopting form of bond,fixing the place of payment and authorizi•n the execution of seventy five thousand Dollars,Bondsof the city of Wichita Falls,Texas,for street improvement purposes,autorizA by an election held aid February 15th 1919,making provision for a taxor the payment of the principal and interest thereof,and amending Ordinance no 258,heretofore passed and adopted,was read,and all the Aldermen of the City being present,Alderman Bundy moved that the rule requiring Ordinances to be read and passed at three seperate regular meetings,of the Board of Aldermen,the last of which to take place not less than ten days from the first,be suspended,and that Ordinance No 263 be adopted and passed on its final reading,which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried by the unanimous vote of all the Aldermen of the City Voting yea, Ordinance No 263 was then put on its final reading and passed by the following yea and nay vote,Alderman Reed Yea, Alderman McFall Yea,Alderman Bundy Yea, Alderman Weldon Yea, and Alderman Curlee Yea, Mayor Marlow then declared Ordinance No 263 passed on its final reading by all the Aldermerathe City being present and voting yea. 0 0 o Ch.,,,, • • . 0 , • ORDINANCE NO 259, An ORDINANCE GIVING AND GRANTING UNTO ',.HE WICHITA FALLS. TEtt COMPANY, ITS SUCCESSORS,ASSIGNS AND LESSEES,THE RIGHT TO INCREASE THEIR tGATER RATES AND REPEALING SO MUCH OF ORDINANCE NO 18 OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,TEXAS, AS LEPERS TO WATER RATES, was on motion of Alderman Reed seconded by Alderman McFall,put on its third reading and passed by the following yea and nay vote, Alderman Reed,Yea, Alderman MoFall,Yea, Alderman Bundy,Yea, Alderman Curlee Yea, Alderman Weldon Nay, Mayor Marlow then declared Ordinance no 259 passed on its third and final reading by a majority of the Aldermen of the City voting Yea. o 0 0 A petition signed by R:,L,Yates,and ten others was presented to the Board Asking that Austin Avenue be naved from ninth street to tenth street, whereupon Alderman MoFallmoved that the petition be received and filed, which motion was seconded by Alderman Weldon and carried. o 0 o Y1fyar Marlow announced the appointment of the following committee to prepare new Charter for the City, J,A,Kemp, A,H,Britain, R,E,Huff, H,F,Weldon; \Y J,F,Reed and J,A,Richolt, whereupon Alderman Weldon Moved Mayor Pro Tern Reed- ' ft, that Mayor Marlow be made a member of that committee,which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy —_id carried.
