Mayor MarlowthenaskedVkyor Protein Reed to take the chair,whereupon, Mayor
Marlow moved that Alderman Reed be authorized to lay a 6 inch sewer line in
the alley running north and south through Block No. 177, which motion was
seconded by Alderman Weldon and carried.

Mayor Marlow then resumed the chaiJ whereupon Alderman Weldon moved that,
W. Y. Hammack be permitted to use part of the alley and not to exceed 10 ft
of Tenth Street, at the rear of the South Methodist Church, for the purpose
of storing material for repairs at that point, under the usual provisions to
wit: that the said W. Y. Hammack his administrators, Successors and Assigns
hold the City harmless from any damages that may be caused by storing said
material, which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried.

The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita A'alle, Texas met in regular sessiai
on the above date for the transaction of the business of the City with
Alderman Reed, Mayor Protein presiding and with the following officers present
Aldermen J. M. McFall, M. A. Bundy, H. F. Weldon and W. S. Curlee. City
Attornejr Mathis, City Clerk Walkup, City Marshal Smith, Fire Chief McClure,
and acting engineer Donald in attendance.

Minutes of the last regular session were read and approved.

N. Stanley Field came before the board and recommended an amendment to the
plumbing ordlnanoe, whereupon, Alderman moved that a committee be
appointed to confer with Mr Stanley Fieldnrelative to said amendment, which
motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried.

Mayor Reed then appointed the following committee, Aldermen Bundy,Cutlee and
McFall.

Alderman Curlee moved that Robert A. Wilson be permitted to construct an Automoy
bile washraok on rear end of lot at 608 Indiana Avenue, under the usual provi-
sion to wit: That the construction of the said washrack shall be under the
supervision ofCity Engineer and that the said B. A. Wilson his administrators,
aueeessors and assigns hold the City harmless from any damages that may be caused
by the construction and maintenance of said washrack and to remove same apon
order of the Board of Aldermen which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and
carried.

Alderman Weldon moved that Henry Hund be permitted to erect a Gasoline Filing
Station on Tehth Street at the corner of Tenth Street and Scott Avenue, under
the usual provision to wit: that the erection of the said gasoline filing
station shall be made under the supervision of the City engineer and that the
said Henry Hunt, his administrators, Successors and Assigns hold the City
harmless from any damages that may be caused by the erection and maintenance
of said gasoline filing station and to remove same unon order of the Board of
Aldermen and to replace sidewalk in proper condition which motion was seconded
by alderman Curlee antPcarried.

Alderman Bundy moved that The Ryan Petroleum Corperption be permitted to erect
a Gasoline Filing Station on Indiana Avenue in front of Lots 27, 28 & 29,Bloak
91, City of Wichita malls, under the usual provision to wit: that the erection
of said Gasoline Filing otation be under the supervision of the City Engineer
and that the said, Ryan Petroleum Corparation its legal representatives ,
Administrators, Successors and "ssigns hold the cite harmless from any damages
that may be caused by the erection and maintenance of said gasoline filing
station and to remove dame on notice by the Board of Aldermen and to replace
sidewalk in proper condition which motion was eeconded by Alderman ItaFall and
carried.

Alderman Moran moved that W. Y. Hammack be permitted to use one-half of the
alley in the rear of 807-Indiana Avenue for the purpose of storing material
for repairs on building at that point, under the usual provisions to ..it:
that the said W. Y. Hammack, his administrators, successors and assigns hold
the city harmless from any damages that may be caused by storing said material
which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried.

Alderman Curlee moved that Alderman Bundy be sent to Beaumont and Eort Arthur
Texas to inspect municipal slaughter houses at these points which motion was
seconded by Alderman Weldon and carried.

Alderman Curlee moved that Fire Chief McClure be instructed to attend the
International Convention of FireaChiefs at tansas City Missouii, June 24 to 27
included which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried.

R. E. Huff presented to the Board the following resolution,

It appearing to the council that in accordance with a former order of the
Council, May 15th 1919, that A. G. Savelli, owner of lot Three (3); M. L.
Hooker, owner of lot Four (4); Mrs. W. C. Lovelace, owner of lot nine' (9);
and R. D. Owens, owner of lot Ten (10) in Block Thirteen (13) Southland Additi m
to the city of Wichita Faller; Texas as per the amended plat of said Block
Thirteen )13) had filed with the City Clerk an asreement in writing that the
alley running North and South through said Block may be closed and R. E. Huff
and Mrs S. Y. Collins had also fi''i written consent to the closing of said
alley, that the former order of the Council be and hereby "Is made permanent and
that said alley be and hereby is closed forever.
It is further ordered by the Council that the city of Wichita Falls forever
relinquishes all its rights in and to t:e Twenty (20) foot strip of ground
heretofore taken up by said allay lying between lots Three (3)- and Four (4)
and between lots Nine (9) and Ten (10) in said Block Thirteen (13) Southland
Addition back to R. E. Huff and of. Y. Collins and that the Mayor of Wichita
Falls, be and hereby is authorized to execute a deed tc them in accordance
with this order.
Whereupon Alderman Weldon moved that the resolution be adopted and spread
on the minutes and that the Mayor be authorized to execute a deed to R. E. Huff
and Mrs. S. Y. Collins, for the alley so closed which motion was seconded by
Alderman Bundy and carried.

of appointing a Board of Equalization to equalize the tax renditionsof the
City for the year of nineteen and nineteen (1919) after discussing the matter
Alderman Reed moved that J. T. Young, J. B. Fitts and J. J. Simmon be
appointed as such board,which motion was seconded by Alderman Weldon and
curried.

The Board of Aldermen then went into exec tive session to consider matters
authorized by the charter to be considered executive session,the
Board then went out of executive session.
