The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular session
on the above date for the transaction of the business of the City, with Mayor
Marlow presiding, with the following officers present, Aldermen J. F. Reed.
i J. M. eFall. M. A. Bundy, H. F. Weldon and W. S. Curlee. City Atty Mathis. City
Clerk Walkup, City Marshall Smith and acting City Engineer Donald in attendance.

Minutes of last regular session June 12th, 1919, were read and approved.

Alderman MoFall, moved that applications for street lights at Park and Barwise
Street and also at Lucile and Brook Street, be referred to Alderman Curlee with
power to act, which motion was seconded by Alderman Weldon and carried.

♦ :petition signed by Rhea Howard and twenty tour others asking that Buchanan
Street, be paved from Tenth street to Avenue R, wee presented to the Board,
whereupon Alderman Weldon moved that the petition he received and filed, which
motion was seconded by Alderman MoFall and carried.

Alderman MoFall moved that Whitfield Company be permitted to use Fifteen feet of
the street at 609 Soott Avenue for the purpose of storing material for the erection
of a building at that point under the usual provision to wit : That the said
Whitfield Company hold the City harmless from any damages that may be caused by
storing said material which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and parried.

Mayor Marlow appointed Aldermen. Bundy, Reed and McFall, a oommittee to investigate
the probable cost of equiping the Bellvue park for a Children play ground and
also to see if the Rotary and Wichita Clubs and other Civic organizations would
assist in defraying the expense and coat of said equipment.

Alderman McFall moved that the bill of Alderman Bundy for Forty Five Dollars and
Ten ($46.10) Cents expenses to Beaumont and Port Arthur be paid and that the Ward
extend to Alderman Bundy a vote of thanks for his services which motion was
ascended by Alderman Curlee and oarried.

Alderman Bundy moved that the account of A. L. Fitts for Sixty six ($66.00) Dollars
fdr assisting the Board of Equalization for Eleven days be paid whioh motion was
seconded by Alderman Reed and carried.

Alderman Weldon moved that the account of G. E. Shirey for Fifty Four ($54.00)
Dollars be paid which motion was seconded by Alderman MoFall and carried.

The following petition was presented:
Wichita Falls* Texas, June 19th, 1919.
To Honorable Mayor and Board of Aldermen;
City, of Wichita Falls, Texas;
We, the undersigned persons, owning all of the property abutting
on the 20 foot alley running North and South between Blook "A" and Blook No.20
of the Southland Addition to the oity of Wichita Falls, Texas, hereby
respectfully petition you to close said alley, and represent that Late Nos. 1 and
4 of said block No. 20 are owned by F. P. Timberlake; that Lots Nos. 2 and 3
in said Block No. 20 are owned by C. E. meCutohen; that Lot Bo. 7 in Block "A"
is owned by T. W. Zeigler, and Lot Bo. 8 in Block "A" is owned by Rose Corlett.
That there is an alley running East and West through said Block "A"
and through said Block Bo. 20, and t at the said alley running North and
South between said Blocks is of no use whatsoever to said owners or to anyone
else, and serves no good purpose of any kind or character, wherefore we
respectfully pray that said alley be closed.

whereupon it is moved by Aldermen Curlee, and seconded by Alderman MoFall that
the said petition be granted and that the alley running North and South
between Block "A" and Block Twenty (20) Southland Addition to the city of
Wichita Falls, Texas, according to the amended plat of said Addition be and
hereby is ordered closed and that the Mayor be authorized to make a conveyance
to R. E. Huff and S. Y. Collins original owners of said Southland Addition
reoonveying all the right, title and claim of the oity in and to the alley
ordered closed, which motion was unanimously carried by vote of all present.

The Board of Aldermen then went into executive session to consider matters
authorized by the City charter to be considered in executive session the
Board then went out of executive session and the following business transacted,

Alderman MoPall moved that the salary of J. L. MOORE, be raised Twenty Five
4325.00) per month and that C. B. Montgomery be paid same wages as received
before he was hurt which motion was seconded by Alderman Weldon and parried.

session on the above date for the transaction of the business of the City
with Mayor J. B. Marlow presiding. and with the following offioere
present . Aldermen J. F. Reed, M. A. Bundy, W. S. Curies and H. F. Weldon.

Mayor Marlow announced that this meeting had been called fo r the purpose of
considering the extension of sidewalks and St crossings in the newly built
portion of the City in order that the residents .in these sections might have
the benifit of free mail delivery, after discussion of the matter by Post Master
Howard and the Board Alderman Bundy moved that Alderman Curlee be authorized
to make street and alley crossings where sidewalks are down which motion was
seconded by Aldermen Read and carried.

g. W. Pant representing the Exceilsior Motor Company a partnership composed of
C. W. Pant and W. S. Lnagford came before the Board and asknpermission
to install a gasoline filing station at 609 Scott Avenue, whereupon, Alderman
Bundy moved that the permit be granted finder the usual provisions to wit: that
the construction of said filing station Should be under the supervision of the
City Ingineer and that the said Exoellsior Motor Company and W. S. Langford and
C. W. Pant individually their legal representatives, administrators,
successors and assigns shall hold the City harmless from any damages that may be
paused by the construotion and mAintenance of said gasoline filing station and
to remove same on notice of the Board of Aldermen and to replace sidewalk in
proper condition which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and parried.

Alderman Weldon moved that the matter of trash hauling and other sanitary
conditions of the pity be referred to Alderman Reed and Sanitary Officer Morgan
with power to sot and to work out a plan of taking pare of the sanitary condition
according to their own ideas which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and
carried.

The Board then went into executive session to consider matters authorized by the
City charter to be considered in executive session. The Board then went out of
executive session.
