Min 07/10/1919 Wichita Falls, Texas, July 10, 1919.
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita °alla, Texas, met in regular session
on the above date for the transaction of the business of the city. with Mayor
, J. B. Marlow, presiding,with the following officers present. Aldermen J. F. Heed,
H. F. Weldon and W. S. Curies. City Atty Mathis, City Clerk Walkup, City Marshall
Smith and acting City Engineer Donald in attendance.

Doctor Beckman came before the Board and ask for a vacation 6f sixty days
commencing July 15th, whereupon, Alderman Reed moved that Doctor Beekman be grant-
ed a leave of absence commencing July 16, 1919, and that Doctor Neil be appointed
acting City Health Officer during Doctor Beckmans Absence which motion was
seconded by Alderman Weldon and carried.

Alderman Weldon moved that G. C. Woods be permitted to use 10 feet of the street
at 1000 Brook Avenue and 10 ft of the Alley in the rear for the purpose of
storing material for improvement at that point under the usual provision to wit:
That the said G. C. Woods his successors, and assigns hold the City harmless from
any damages that may be caused by storing said material which motion was seconded
by Alderman Curlee and carried.

Alderman Weldon moved that J. C. Jopling be permitted to use 15deet of the street
at 1002 Scott Avenue for the purpose of storing material for the erection of a
building at that point ander the usual provision to wit: that the said J. C.
Jopling hie successors and assigns hold the City harmless from any damages that
may be calmed by the storing of said material which motion was seconded by
Alderman Reed and carried.

R. E. Huff came before the Board and presented a contract by and between the
owners of property in the Southland Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas.
and L. E. IMitham and company a c0-partnership consisting of L. E. Whitham and
Rebecca Whitham for the paving of Brook Avenue from Huff Avenue to Collins Street.
Elisabeth Avenue from Marshall Street`to Archer Street`( Now Harrison Street).
Lucile Avenue from Marshall Street to Archer Street (now Harrison). Collins
Avenue from Brook Street tt Baylor Avenue (also a right to pave Collins Avenue
between Brook street and Marshall Street), whereupon, Alderman Weldon moved that
said contract be accepted and approved when the specifications are approved by
the City Engineer which motion was seconded by Alderman Reed and carried.

Alderman Curlee moved that the Street Committee be authorized to employ or hire
extra teams for grading street for street paving or to let contract to outside
parties for street grading at a price not to exceed what it would cost the City to
do said grading with its own teammwhich motion was seconded by Alderman Reed and
0arried.

Alderman Weldon moved that Alderman Reed be authorized to lease a part of the
old dump ground lying East of the city for the purpose of erecting a temporary
stook pen and slaughter house provided Alderman Reed considered it advisable to do
so which motion was seconded by Alderman Curiae and carried.

Alderman Reed moved that the folowing accounts be paid:
I. H. Roberts, second partial estimate for paving intersections on huff $2453.52
C. R. Nichols third partial estimate for sewer work as per contract 714.00
J. B. Fitts 24 days an Equalization Board 240.00
" " " 12 days use of auto 120.00
E. S. Whitelaw 20 days on Equilization Board 200.00
T. H. Leath 11 days on Equilization Joard 110.00
Ralph Mathis expenses to Austin 27.52
which motion was seconded by Alderman Weldon and Carried.

Alderman Curiae moved that the City Clerk turn over to the City Treasurer
$75.000.00 Street Improvement Bonds for collection which motion was seconded by
Alderman Weldon and carried.

The Board then went into executive session to consider matters authorized by the
City charter to be considered in executive session. The Board then went out
of executive session.
