Min 08/07/1919 Wichita Falls, Texas, August 7, 1919. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wiohita Falls, Texas, Met in regular session on the above date for the transaction of the businessof the City with Mayor J. B. Marlow, presiding with the following'officers present, Aldermen J. F. Reed; M. A. Bundy, J. M. McFall and W. S. Curlee. City Atty Mathis, City Clerk WaiYdp, City Marshal Smith., City Treasurer Barron, Tax Assessor and Collector Anderson, Fire Chief McClure and Acting City Engineer Donald in attendance. O 0 o Minutes of last regular session were read and approved. O 0 0 Alderman Me Fall moved that the Wichita Falls Water Company be grantedapermisaion to install (temporary) a Booster Pump in the alley between Third and Fourth Street and Ohio Avenue and Indiana Avenue, under the usual provisions to wit: that the said Wichita Falls Water Company, its legal representatives, Administrat ors, Suooessors, and Assigns shall hold the City harmless from any damages that may be caused by the installation and maintenance of said Pump and to remove same upon notice Of the Board of Aldermen which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried. O 0 0 Alderman Reed moved that J. J. Marshall be permitted to install a Gasoline Filing Station at 804- Ohio Avenue, under the usual provision to wit: that the construc- tion of said Gasoline Filing Station ska3.l be under the supervision of the City Engineer and that the said J. J. Marshall lie Administrators, Successors and *Cosigns shall hold the City Harmless from any damages that may be caused by installation and maintenaneoe of said Gasoline Filing Station and to remove same upon notice of the Board of Aldermen and to replace the sidewalk in proper condition which motion was seconded by Alderman ' Fall and carried* O 0 0 The matter of a Fire Alarm system for the city was referred to the Public Safety Committee. O 0 0 Alderman McFall moved that the Excelsior Motor Company, be permi4ted to install a Gasoline Filing Station at 611-Ohio Avenue under the usual provision to wiT: that the said Excelsior Motor Company, its legal representatives, Administrators Successors and Assigns, shall hold the City harmless from any damages that may be caused by the installation and maintenance of said Gasoline Filing Station and to remove same upon notice of the Board of Aldermen and to replace the' sidewalk in-proper condition which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee. O 0 o Alderman Mca all moved that the salary of T. M. Murphy and J. 0. Colvin, be raised to $100.00 per mo nth which motion was seconded By alderman Curies and carried. O 0 0 Alderman Reed reported that the sanitary Committee had employeed Dr. A. H. Douglas as Dairy & Food Inppeotbr and City Chemist at a salary of $200.00 per month whereupon, Alderman McFall moved that the action of the Sanitary Committee be ratified and approved which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried* o 0 0 Assistant Police Commierierer Goodfellow reported the appointment of W. C. Miles, I. M. Johnson and Ma Cougtf , as Police Officers whereupon, Alderman McFall moved that the appointment be ratified and approved which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried. O 0 0 Alderman Seed moved that the matter of employing a Janitor for the City Hall be referred to Alderman Bundy with power to act which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried. Young for $60.00, P. H. Leath for $30.00 J. B. Fitts $30.00, for work on E uilization Board be paid, also the account of the National Bank of Commerce $2.$2 postage and insurance on Street Improvement Bonds be paid which motion was secondedby Alderman Mefall and carried. o 0 o The Board'then prodeeded to check and 0 K officers report for the month of July 1919.
