Min 08/14/1919 Wichita Falls, Texas, August 14th, 1919. The Board of Aldermen Of theCity of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regulag session on the above sate f or the transaction of the business of the City with ayor J. B. Marlow presiding, with the following officers present, Aldermen J F. Reed M. A. Bundy, J. M. McFall and W. S. Curies. City Atty Mathis, City Clerk Walkup Fire Chief McClure and Acting City Engineer Donald in attendance. o 0 o * Minutes of last regular session were read and approved. O 0 0 ORDINANCE 265 AN ORDINANCE giving and granting unto the Wichita Valley Railroad Company, their atcoessore, assigns and lessees, the right to construct and operate a standard gaugw line of railway tracks across the following street and through theealley in Block No. 210, xx ae_C ty,oL, iohita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, was an the ypuo motion of Alder.A.'Bun n is r t reading and passed the following Yea and Bay vote, Alderman Bundy, Yea, Alderman Reed, Yea, Alderman McFall, Yea, and Alderman Curlee, Yea, Mayor Marlow then declared Ordinance No. 265 passed on its first reading by the unanimous vote of all the Aldermen of the City. present, voting Yea. O 00 Alderman McFall moved that the Mayor be requested to issue a proclamation requesting all people to be as saving with ice as possible also requesting the Ice Companprin the City of Wichita Falls, to discontinue delivery of Ice to Cold Drink Stands until such a time as said ice company can supplytho demand of the sick and working class of people and merchants handling perishable merchandise can be adequately supplied with ice, which motion was seconded by Alderman Curies and carried. O 0 o Alderman Curlee moved that R. F. Lowery be permitted to use 15 feet of.the Street at 1107 Brook Street for the purpose of storinj material for the erection of a building at that point under the usual provision to witd that the said H. F. Lowery his administrators, successors and Assigns shall hold the City harmless from any damages that may b caused by the storing of said materiai,which motion was seconded by Alderman Mull and carried. o 0 o Mayor Marlow appointed Alderman Reed, Bundy and McFall a Committee to confer with tepresentative of Studebaker 3ros relative the,purohase of Street Sprinkler and flusher. 0 0 0 Alderman Curlee moved that the Mayor be authorised to close deal for the purchase of Road Machinewhich motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried. 0 0 o Alderman Reed moved that the Mayor be authorized to sign contract for the installation of a fire Alarm System of One Hundred boxea;which motion was seconded by Alderman Curiae and carried. O 0 0 Alderman McFall moved that the Railroad Commission be asked to raise the embargo on Sewer pipe andfixtures destined to the City of Wichita Falls, for the purpose of making sewer extensions in the City,which motion was seconded by Alderman Bandy and Carried, O 0 0 Alderman Bundy moved that Alderman Reed be authorised to purchase such apparatus as he desires for the gifioeTof the Food and Dairy Inspector which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried. O 0 0 Alderman Curiae moved that the Police Commissioner be authorized to make any repairs he deems necessary for the police Court Room.which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried. O 0 o The matter of removing garbage by private parties was referred by the Mayor to the Sanitary Committee for action. o 0 o The Board of Aldermen-than weal into Executive session to consider matters authorized by the City Charter to be considered in executive session,the Board then went out of executive session and the following business was transacted, o 0 o Alderman Bundy moved that the salaries of the Police department be raised as ex fellows, Night $125.00 per month 110.00 " Motorcycle Officer 140.00 " Commencing August 15th 1919, which motion was seconded by Alderman Wela11 and carried. o 0 o Alderman McFall moved that W. W. Beloher be asked for his resigination as police officer which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried. O 0 o Assistant Police Commissioner Goodfellow WilftYkVi the appointment of J. C. Brown and A.R. Kirby as members of the polies force whereupon Alderman Reed paved that the appointments be approved,which motion was seoon&ed by Alderman MeFall and carried. BOO It Alderman Bundy moved that the salary of the Janitor be raised to $75.00 per month commencing August 15th, 1919, which motion was seconded by Alderman Moi'all and carried. o 0 0 Dr. G. H. Allen City Vetenarian presented his report for the month of July 1919, whereupon, Alderman Reed moved that the report be received and filed which motion was seeed by Aldermen Curiae and carried. Wichita Falls, Texas, August 18,1919 The Board of AAdermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in called Maessio on the above date for the transaction of the business of the City with yor Marlow presiding, and with the following officers present, Aldermen J. F. Seed, W. S. Curiae and H. F. Weldon. City Clerk Walktmp in attendance. O 0 0 Mayor Marlow announced that this meeting had been called for the purpose of considering the purchase of Goverment supplies to be sold and delivered to the et citizens of Wichita Falls, at goverment prices. O 0 0 Alderman Weldon moved that the mayor be sent at the expense of the City to the MayoiiConvention at Austin, Texas, with authority to go to San Antonio if expedient and to be further authorized to contract for the purchase of supplies from the goverment to be sold at costprovided the overhead expenses are paid, if in his judgement such purchase Should be made. 0 0 o Alderman Reed moved that Alderman Weldon be granted a leave of absence from the Eighteenth day of August to the Fifteenth day of September inclusive Adel motion was seconded by Alderman Curiae and carried. 0 0 0 The Board then Adjourned. 0 0 o Read and aproved this Twenty Bd tlDay of August A.
