Min 08/28/1919 Wichita Falls, Texas, August 28th, 191$. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas met in regular session on the above'date for the transaction of the business of the City with Mayor ' J. B. Marlow, presiding, and'the following officers present, Aldermen J. F. Reed, M. A. Bundy and W. S. Curlee: City Atty Mathis, City Clerk Walkup, Fird Chief Me Clure, City Marshal Smith, eating City Engineer Donald in attendance. Minutes of regular session August 14th, called session of August 18th and regular session August 21st and adjoar.ed session of August 23rd and 25th 1919, were read and approved. o 0 0 Alderman Curiae moved that W.. M. Guthrie be perritted to erect a temporary Steel Building at 1108- SoottAvenue for the purpose of a Garage which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried. o 0 o Alderman Bundy moved that Eugene Burchard be remitted the sum of Five'Dollare ref and of fine which motion was seconded by Alderman Reed and carried. O 0 o Mr. McDonald came before the Board and askaermission to make private contract with .he Citizens of the City to oil publio streets for a price to be agreed upon between himself and the Citizens, whereupon, Mayor Marlow ask Mayor Protem Reed to take the chair. Mayor Marlow than moved that the request of Mr McDonald be turned down which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried. Mayor Marlow then resumed the chair. 0 0 c ORDINANCE 265. AN ORDINANCE giving and grantrng unto the Wichita Valley Railroad Company, their .successors, assigns and lessees, the right to construct and operate a standard gauge line of railway track across the following street and through the alley in Block No. 210 in the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, was on motion of Alderman Curies seconded by Alderman Bundy put on its second reading and passed by the following yea and nay vote..,' Alderman Reed, yea, Alderman Bundy,yea, and Alderman Curlee yea, whereupon, Mayor Marlow declared Ordinenee No. 265 passed on its second reading by the unanimous vote of all the Aldermen of the City present voting yea. 0 0 o ORDINANCE 266 AN ORDINANCE declaring Scotland Addition To the City of Wichita Falls, a part of the City of Wichita Fails, Texas, and within said mAnicipal corporation, was on motion of Alderman Reed seconded By Alderman Bundy put;, on its first reading and passed by the following yea and nay vote,. Alderman Reed yea, Alderman Bundy, yea, and Alderman Curlee yea, Mayor Marlow declared ORDINANCE No. 266, passed on its first reading by the unaniteus:xote of all the Aldermen of the City present voting yea. o 0 o Alderman Reed moved that the bill of Power Oil Refining Company for Nine Hundred Dollars and Sixty One (#900..61) Cents for three cars of Road Oil be paid which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried. o 0 o Alderman Bundy moved that the bill of C. 8o S. Plumbing Company for Ninety Three Dollars and Fifty 493.50) Cents for plumbing in the office of the City Food & Dairy Inspector be paid which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried. O 0 0 Alderman Reed moved tha the matter of securing supplies from the Goverment for distribution among the Citizens of Wichita County at cost be referred to ieayor Marlow and Alderman Bundy, with power to act which motion was seconded by Alderman Curley and carried. o 0 o Alderman Bundy moved that the salary of the regale,' Firemen be raised to 0100.0Z pier month and that the salary of Truck drivers in the Fire Department be raised to #115.00 per month commencing September First, 1919, and also that the City buy another Fire Engine which motion was seconded by Alderman Reed and carried. O 0 o Alderman Reed moved that the matter of sprinkling the streets be placed in the hands of Alderman Curlee with power to act which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried. 0 0 o Alderman Bundy moved that Patrolman Miles be granted a leave of absence to go to Ft. Worth to see his mother who was reported sick which motion was seconded by Alderman Reed and carried. 0 0 0 Alderman Reed moved that the salary of Mrs A$ah H. Tietsort, Assistant Librarian, be paid for the month of July and August and that the City Clerk be instructed to notify Mrs Tietsort that the City will not enpb y and assistant Librarian after the first of September 1919, which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried. o 0 o 03 w Alderman Reed moved that the salary of C. B. Montgomery' City Electrician, be raised to $175.00 per month which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and oarried. 0 0 0 Robert Goodfellow, Assistant Police Commissioner reported the appointment of C. D. McKnight, H. E. McMahan and Guy Brain as members of the Police Force, whereupon, Alderman Bundy moved that the appointments be affirmed which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried. o 0 o The Board of Aldermen the$ adjourned. o 0 o Read and approved the Fourth day of September A.
