Min 10/19/1919 Wichita Falls, Texas, October W, 1919. The Board of Aldermen of the. City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular session on the above date for the transaction of the business of the City with Mayor J. B. Marlow presiding.* and the following officers present, Aldermen J. F. Reed, J. M. MoFal1, ". A. Bundy, H. F. Weldon and W. S. Curlee. Wity Atty Mathis, City Clerk Walkup City Marshal Smith, City Treasurer Barron, City Tax Aecessor and Collector anerson, Fire Chief McClure, and Acting City Engineer Donald in attendance. o 0 o Minutes of last regular session were read and spproved. 0 0 0 Alderman Reed filed a report of his investigation of the account of Dr. Meredith whereupon, Alderman McFall moved that the City Clerk be instructed to mail Dr. Meredith a copy of Br. Reeds report which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried. o 0 o Alderman McFall moved that the Peoples Ice Company be authorized to use 15ft of the streets at the corner of Fifth Street and Indiana Avenue for the purpose of storing material for the erection of a building at that point under the usual provision to wit: that the said Peoples Ice Company its legal representatives, successors and assigns shall hold the city harmless from any damages that may be caused by the storing.of said material which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried. 0 0 o Alderman Curlee moved that the sum of *17..50 be refunded to J. G. Roe for making connections to the sewer main which motion was seconded by Alderman Weldon and carried, O 0 o ORDINANCE 268 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF AUTOMOBILES OR OTHER VRATCLES BETWEEN THE CURB LINE AND SAFETY ZONE OR ONES, AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY, was on motion of Alderman Bundy seconded by Alderman McFall put on its Third reading and passed by the following yea and nay vote. Aldermen Reed yea, Alderman McFall yea., Alderman Bundy yea, Alderman Weldon yea, and Alderman Curlee yea, Mayor Marlow then declared ORDINANCE Bo. 268 passed on its third and final reading by all the Aldermen of the City voting yea. o 0 o ORDINANCE 269 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF AUTOMOBILES TRUCKS, TRACTORS AND TRAILERS WEISE:ARE BEING OFFERED FOR SALE, UPON THE STREETS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY, was on motion of Alderman Curlee seconded by Alderman Bundy put on its first reading and passed by the following yea and nay vote. Alderman Reed yea, Alderman M08all yea, Alderman Bundy yea, Alderman Weldon yea and Alderman Curlee yea. Mayor Marlow then declared ORDINANCE 269 passed on itsitsliiiireading by all the Alderman of the city voting yea. o 0 o Alderman Reed moved that the report of Dr's Allen and Douglas Dairy & Food Inspector and the report of Mary C. Roberts, Librarian be received and filed which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried. O 0 0 The Desk Sergeant of the Police Department filed a report for the week ending October 8th, 1919 whereupon, Alderman McFall moved that the report be received and filed and that this council extend its thanks to the Desk Sergeant for said report which motion was seconded'by Alderman Bundy and carried. 0 0 0 Alderman Reed moved that the bill of L. E. Whitham & Company for $607.60 for second partial estimate on Contract be paid which motion was seconded by Alderman Weldon and carried. 0,0 0 Alderman McFall moved that the City Clerk be authorized to increase the pay of assistant for his office not to exceed $150.00 per month which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried. 0 Co Alderman McFall moved that Dr's Allen and Douglass be authorized to employ help for their office at a salary of 075.00 per month which motion was seconded by Alderman Weldon and carried. 0 0 o The Board then proceeded to check and 0.
