Min 10/21/1919 • The Desk Sergeant of the Police Department filed a report for the week ending Qotober 15th, thereupon Alderman McFall moved that the report be received and filed which motion was seconded by Alderman Randy and carried. 0 0 o Alderman McFall moved that this Board go on record as favoring an amendment o the constitution of the State of Texas granting the City of Galveston permission to issue Bonds for the purpose of erecting sea wall protection which motion was seconded by Alderman Reed and carried. o 0 o Alderman Bundy moved that the City Engineering Department be authorized to stop street paving at any time when in their opinion the work is not being done according to speeification and grades which motion was seconded by Alderman Weldon and carried. 0 0 o Alderman Reed moved that the City Clerk be instructed to issue warrant tor the payment of the freight on the Road Machine from Kansas City to Wichita Falls, which motion was seconded by Aldermen McFall and carried. 0 0 0 ant -Alderman Bundy reported that he had employed George W. Thorborn as desk seargeant for the police department at a salary of 1150.00 per month commencing October 1st, 1919, whereupon Alderman McFall mowed that t he Action of Alderman Bundy be ratified which motion was seconded by Alderman Weldon and carried. O 0 0 Alderman Bundy moved that Police Officer Sohwend be granted a leave of absence which motion was seoonded by Alderman Weldon and carried. o 0 o Alderman Bundy moved that Alderman Weldon be authorized to purchase two (2) automobiles one for the use of the Engineering Department and one for the tee of the Street Department which motion was seconded by Alderman Weldon and carried. O 0 0 Alderman Curiae moved that Alderman Bundy be authorized to erect building in the rear of the City Hall to be used for the storing of City Automobiles which motion was seconded by Alderman Weldon and carried. — o 0 0 Alderman Weldon moved that the City bills be paid as per OK of Finance Committee which motion was seconded by Alderman Reed and carried. 0 0 0 The Board of Aldermen then adjourned until Eight Thirty otClock A. M. Tuesday October 21st, 1919. Wichita Fails, Texas, October 21st, 1919. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular adjourned session on the above date for the transaction of the business of the city with Mayor J. B. Marlow presiding, and with the following officers present, Aldermen J. F. Reed, M. A. Bundy, J.'M. McFall, II., F. Weldon and W. S. Curlee. City Clerk Walkup in attendance. 0 0 0 _ ORDINANCE 271 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATION FOR THE YEAR A. D. 1919. was read, and all the Aldermen of the City being present, Alderman Reed moved that the rule requiring Ordinances to be read and passed at three separate regular meetings of the BOard of Aldermen, the last of which to take place not less than ten days from the first, be suspended, and that Ordinance NO. 271 be adopted and passed on its final reading, which motion was seconded by Alderman McBail and carried by the unanimous vote of all the Aldermen of the city voting yea, Ordinance No. 271 was then put on its final reading and passed by the following yea and nay vote. Alderman Reed yea, Alderman Bundy yea, Alderman McFall yea, Alderman Weldon yea and Alderman Curlee yea. Mayor Marlow then declared Ordinance No. 271 passed on its final reading by all the Aldermen of the City being present and Toting yea. 0 0 0 o 0 o The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
