Wichita Falls, Texas, December 12th, 1919.
The Board of llidermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular session
on the above date for the transaction of the business of the City with Mayor
J. B. Marlow presiding, and the following Officers present, Alderman J. F. Reed,
J. :T. McFall, M. n. Bundy, H. F. Weldon and W. S. Curlee. Wity Atty Mathis,
City Clerk Thorburn, City Marshal Smith, Fire Chief McClure, and acting City
Engineer Donald in attendance.

20th and December lath were read and approved.

Alderman Reed moved that Alderman Weldon be authorized to purchase a Caterpillar
Tractor for the City which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried.

Alderman Curlee moved that J1dge J. R. Ogle be allowed Two (2) Weeks vacation
commencing on or about the 19th days of December and that B. S. Sartin be
appointed to take his place during his absence which motion was seconded by
Alderman Bundy and carried.

Alderman McFall oved that the Schofield Garage be alloyed to install a Gasoline
Filing Station at 609-10th Street, under the usual provision to-wit: that the p;
said Schofield Garage its legal Representatives, Administrators, Successors
and Assigns shall hold tae City harmless from any damages that may be caused
by the installation or maintenance of siad Gasoline Filing Station and that
the installation of same shall be under the supervision of the City Engineer
and to remove same upon..notice of the Beard of Aldermen and to replace sidewalks
in proper condition which motion was seconded by Alderman Weldon and carried.

for putting in not more than Sixty (60) Siderwalkb(sTilic=7fieoessary under
the Contract with the Post Office for City Delivery which motion was seconded
by Alderman Reed and carried.

Alderman Bundy moved that the City Clerk be authorized to order Two (2) cars
of Number 55 Road Oil from the Texas Company for immediate shipment which motion
was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried,

Alderman Weldon moved that the City Clerk notify the Denver Railroad that unless
track on Burnett Street crossing is put in ptoper condition waRial in Ten days
and the Blocking of said crossing la be discontinued that suit will be filed
and Franchise revokedd and that a copy of this letter be mailed to the Wichita
Mill And Elevator'Company and also demand that the Crossing on Broad Street
be opened up which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried.

ORDINANCE 274
An Ordinance requiring all employees of Food products establishments to be
examined by the City Health Officer and hold Certificates from each officer
showing such employee to be free from all contagious, communicable or infectious
diseases, and providing a penalty was on motion of Alderman Reed seconded by
Alderman McFall placed on its.QW +J *reading and passed by the following yea
and nay vote, Alderman Reed yea, Alderman McFall yea, Alderman Bandy yea,
Ald rman Curlee yea and Alderman Weldon nay. Mayor Marlow then declared
Ordinance No. 274 passed on its first reading.

Company prepare and submit a contract as contemplated in the tentative
position submitted to the council which motion was seconded by Alderman
proposition
and carried.

RESOLUTION.
Whereas, the Board of Aldermen of t .e Citl,- of Wichita_Falls, Texas,
deem it advisable to issue bonds of said Cite' for the purpose hereinafter
• mentioned.
Therefore, it is hereby ordered by the Board of Aldermen of t:..e City
of Wichita Fa ls, Texas, th t an election be held on t e 15th dads on January
1920, at which election the following proposition shall be submitted.
Shall the Board of Alleermen of the Cita of ,Tichita Falls, Texas, be
authorized to issue bonds of t:.e said City in t_ um of Eight gundred Thousand
($800,000.00) Dollars, payable forty years after date, :ith option of reassuring
same at any time after ten years time, each bearing interest at rate of
five per cent, per'annnm, interest papa le semi-ainualy, _ad to levy tax
aufficeint to jay the interest on said bonds and to create a sinking itnd
sufficient to redeem t:em at maturity, for t :.e purpose of acquiring and
constructing water works and securing an available water supply and a water
plant for• the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas under t he provision
of tee Charter of the City 'of Wichita Fa ls, Texas, adopted December 4th, 1913
and under the Law of the State of Texas.
Said Election sha 1 be held at the City Hall and at the Wichita County
Court House in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas and the following named '
'-persons are hereby a; ointed managers of said election. At the City Hall
J. B. Fitts, Presiding Judge, J. Assistant Judge, J. J. Manley,
C. G. Philips and Tom Weidman Clerks. At the Wichita Counts Court House:
George Si ens., Presiding Judge, P. H. Denison Assistant Judge, L. P._.ebb,
N. 0. Monroe and C. n, :.hamburger, Clerks. All voters living East of Lamar
Street, North of Wichita River, and Soith and East of the Wichita Valley
Railway Com any 'rack and in said Cita shall vote at t_e City Hall box. All
voteraliving West of Lamar Street in aid City shall vote at the Court House
box.
Said election stall be held under tht provision of the General Election
lwas ofthe State of Texas, and only the qualified voters who are property tax
payers of said City shall be allowed to vote at said election and all voters
desiring to sueport the proposition to issue bonds_shal_, have printed on their
ballots the words: FOR TH ISSUANCE OF BONDS, and those opposing shall have
printed on their ballot the words: AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS, The Mannner
of holding said election shall be geterenedrby t e laws of the State of Texas
regulating general election. .
A copy of this order signed by the Ha1or of said City shall serve as a
proper notice of said election and to be posted up,at the places desiginated
for holding said election at least thirty days ,:rior to the date of sAid
election, and to give at least Thirty days notice of said election by publica-
tion of said notice dultasigned;,by the Mayor in some daily newspaper published
in the City of Wichita Falls,"T xas, at least Once a week for at least three
consecutive weeks next preceding agfid election.
