Min 12/23/1919 Wichita Falls, Texas, December 23rd, 1919. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas met in called session on the abov4 date for the transaction of the business of the City with Mayor J. B. Marlow presiding, and the following officers present, Aldermen J. F. Reed, M. A. Bundy, J. M. McFall. H. F. Weldon and /W S. Curlee. City Atty Mathie, City Clerk Thorburn, and Acting City Engineer Donald in attendacne. 0 0 0 Alderman McFall moved that the Council go on record as being opposed to the increased rates, notice of which has been sent patrons of Telephone Company which motion was second d by Alderman Bundy and carried. 0 0 0 Alderman McFall moved that report given by Alderman Bundy of the Gas meeting at Dallas be approved and the thanks of the Council be extended to Alderman Bundy for making the trip and that his expenses be re-imbursed by the City, which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried. o 0 0 Alderman McFall moved that the Sin Clair Consolidated Oil and Gas Company be granted a permit to erect a temporary steel structure building at 601-Lamar Street under the usual provisional which motion was seconded by Alderman Curies end carried. 0 0 0 ORDINANCE NO 276 AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING SERVICE CAR OWNERS AND DRIVERS TO PAY AN ANNUAL TAX TO THE CITY OF WICHITA FALT,S, TEXAS, PRESCRIBING A PENALTY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Alderman Weldon moved that the rule requiring Ordinances to be read at three separate meetings be suspended and declaring an4 emergency in order that this ordinance No 276 be passed which motion was seconded by Alderman Bandy and passed unanimously. Alderman Weldon then moved that the Ordinance as read be passed which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried unanimously 0 0 0 The Council then went into Executive Session to consider matters authorized by the City Charter to be considered while in executive session the Board then went out of Executive session and the following business was transacted. 0 0 0 Alderman Weldon moved that the question as to whether it is advisable that Dr G. H. Allen should remain an officer of the City and also President of a Company for the disposition of Garbage be left to the judgement of the Sanitary Committee which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried.
