Wichita Falls, Texas, March 8th, 1920.
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,
met in called session on the above date to transact the business of
the City with Mayor J. B. Marlow re iding and the following officers
present: Alderman Reed, McFall, and City Clerk Thorburn.
Moved by Alderman McFall that the report by B. F. Johnson
of the Gas Meeting in Dallas, Texas, be approved, and that the City
Attorney be instructed to file a suit of intervention, and that tie
thanks of the Council be extended to Mr. Johnson for his thorough
report and investigation on gas matters,and that City Clerk be in-
structed to draw a warrant for his expenses, which motion was second-
ed by Alderman Reed and carried.
Moved by Alderman McFall that the franchise submitted by
the Wichita Falls Electric Company be referred to the City Attorney
for a report on same, which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee
and carried.
Moved by Alderman Curlee that Alderman McFall employ an
auditor to make the annual audit of the City accounts, which motion
was seconded by Alderman Reed and carried.
Moved by Alderman Reed that Mr. Richolt, Mr. Willard, Chief
McClure and one other contractor be requested to submit a "Building
Code" to the Council, which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee
and carried.
Moved by Alderman Curlee that the Greater Construction
Company be permitted the use of fifteen feet on Indiana Avenue for
building material for construction of additional story on the Argonne
Hotel, which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried.
Moved by Alderman McFall and seconded by Alderman Curlee
that the City Clerk of the City of Wichita Falls, be authorized to
advertise for bids for the Eight Hundred Thousand ( 800000.00) Dol-
lar Water Works Bonds, said bids to be opened March 25, 1920, Terms
of sale: Sealed bids accompanied by certified cheek payable to the
order of the City of !F'ichita Falls, Texas, in the amount of Three
(3%) Per Cent of the amount of the bonds, conditioned that the bidder
will fulfill his part of the contract according to its terms and con-
ditions, and that City of Wichita Falls, Texas, reserves the right
to reject any or all bids. p
