Min 05/08/1920 Wichita Falls, Texas, May tth, 1920. • The Board of Aldermen met in regular session on the above date for the transaction of the business of the City with W. S. Curlee Mayor Pro-tem presiding, and the follow- ing officers present: Alderman Bundy, McFall and Bonner and City Clerk Thorburn. The minutes of aeeting held April 22nd, were read and approved. Eire H. D. Lee came before the Council and made a proposition to give the City an casement in Block 1 Ture- hart addition 6th and Ban Buren if the City would allow him to connect 4 houses on one six inch Sewer. Alderman Bundy moved that this matter be referred to Alderman McFall with authority to act which motion was seconded by Alderman Bonner and carried. Moved by Alderman McFall that permission be granted J. B. Marlow to install a Gasoline Station on Lots B. & C. Block 248, City of Wichita Falls, ,rovided he has secured the necessary 75`a of signatures required by Ordinance 239 of said City, which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried. Mr. Abe Marcus came before t' e Council and requested permission to install a 2i inch water line from 4th Street to 'his Ice Plant on 5th. a distance of one Block. Alderman McFall moved that this matter be referred to Alderman Bonner with authority to act which motion was Seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried. Moved by Alderman McFall that Dr,. M. M. Walker be appointed health officer at a salary of 0150.00 per Month which motion was seconded by Alderman Bonner and carried ORDINANCE No. 282 An Ordinance fixing the salaries of the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, was on motion of Alderman Bonner, seconded by Alderman AcFall put on it's third reading by the following Yea and Nay vote: Alderman Bundy Yea " " McFall Yea " Bonner Yea Mayor Pro-tem P. S. Curlee then declared ordinance 282 passed on it's third and final reading by all the Aldermen voting Yea. It was then moved by Alderman McFall and seconded by Alderman Bundy that Ordinance 282 be finally passed "as read" which motion was carried, by the following Yea and Nay vote: Alderman Bundy Yea " " " M©Fall Yea " " " Bonner Yea Mayor Protein W. S. Curlee then declared Ordinance 282 finally passed "as read" by all Aldermen present voting Yea. ORDINANCE No. 283 "An Ordinance amending an Ordinance passed on the 9th. October, 1919, fixing inspection fees for Plumbing and Gas Inspection, fixing fees for tapping.-sewers and providing a penalty" was on motion of Alderman McFall seconded by Alderman Bundy put on it's first reading by the following Yea and Nay vote: Alderman Bundy Yea " " " McFall Yea " " " Bonner Yea. Mayor Pro-tem W. S. Curlee then declared Ordinance 283 passed on it's first reading by all of the Aldermen present voting Yea. ORDINANCE No. 284 " "An Ordinance requiring a permit from the City Council before any one shall move a House Building or Structure of any kind on the Streets or Alleys of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas stating the conditions on which said permit is granted and providing for a penalty " was on motion of Alderman McFall seconded by Alderman Bundy put on it's first reading by the following Yea and Nay votes Alderman McFall Yea " " " Bundy Yea " " " Bonner . Yea Mayor Pro-tem W. S. Curlee then declared Ordinance 284 passed on it's first reading by all the Aldermen present voting Yea. ORDINANCE No. 285 " An Ordinance requiring a permit from the City Council before any one shall make an excavation in any Street stating the conditions on which said permit is granted and providing a penalty" was on motion of Alderman Bundy seconded by Alderman McFall placed on It's first reading by the following Yea and Nay vote: Alderman Bundy Yea " " "McFall Yea " " " Bonner Yea Mayor Pro-tem S. Curlee then declared Ordinance 285 passed on it's first reading by all the Aldermen present voting Yea. Moved by Alderman Bundy and seconded by Alderman McFall that Overton McDowell be appointed Alderman in place of Dr. J. F. Reed resigned which motion was carried by the following votes Alderman Bonner Yea " " " McFall Yea " " " Bundy Yea Mayor Pro-tem W. S. Curlee then declared Overton McDowell appointed Alderman by all of the Aldermen present voting Yea. Moved by Alderman McFall that the City Attorney be instructed to take whatever he sees fit to prevent a side- A walk being placed on the East Side of Clark Street until the Council decides the exact ltcation and limits and grade of said Street and-until condemnation proceedings shall be instituted to open the end of the Street which motion was seconded b Alderman Bonner and carried. 4;. I ,, RESOLUTION. Alderman McFall moved that the following Resolution be adopted which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried. That Whereas, the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, acting by and through it's Mayor, J. E. Marlow, sold and conveyed, unto 7. S. Ellis, a certain iece or parcel of property, being described as follows, to-wit: Being Lot ^F" out of .0110r T. B. Snyder Subdivision of lots Nos. One and Two of Block No. Twelve of the Belleview Addition to the City of Tiehita Falls, Texas, by dee' ted Feby. i7th 190, for and in consider_,tio of .he sun of Twe t" ne Thousand Five Jundred ( 1.500.00) Doll :p, pad ' le as olio : -Wit: $ 000.00 in cash, :.::,d. the balance of said consideration in one certain .ronissory note, and: Whereas, the sair oity of .ichita Fal'_s, Texas, has received all of said consider:,ion from the said Ellis, except t the sum of Fifteen Hundred (41500.00) Dollars, which amount was paid to Knight and Crawford as real estate Brokers commissions, for making said sale for the said City of Wichita, Texas. 4 flow, therefore be it resolved by the City Co moil of the City of Achi.a Falls, Texas, that said sale of said real estate, be and the same is hereby in all things app- roved, ratified and confirmed by the City Council of the City of . ichita Falls, Texas. RESOLUTION. Alderman McFall moved that the following Resolution be adopted which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried. Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, that the sale of a certain mile made by George Dobson to for the sum of Fifteen Dollars, be and the same is hereby in all things, approved, ratified and confirmed by the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas. M. McFall be authorized to buy two horse lawn mower for Cemetery, which motion was seconded by Alderman Bonner & carried. Moved by Alderman McFall that the Proposition to apply tarvia to the pavement at Brook and Elizabeth be left to the judgement of the Street Commissioner S. Curlee, which motion was seconded by Alderman Bonner and carried. Moved by Alderman McFall that the Council reccommend to the Chamber of Commerce the purchase of the Pressed Steel Post No. 1538 for Street lighting purposes in preference to the Cast Iron Post, at a price of 458.69 per Post. Moved by Alderman McFall that the Gaines Motor Sales Company be permitted to install an underground Gasoline tank at 918 Ohio under the usual conditions to-bit: that the said Gain s Motor Sales Co. it's legal representatives administratdrs, successors and assigns shall hold the City harmless from any damages that may be caused by the instal- lation of said underground Gasoline Tank and to remove same on notice from the Board of Alderman, Which motinn was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried. 1. V� ,t � Moved by Alderman McFall that the Wichita Velie Motor Company be granted permission to install a Gasoline Station at 1004 -7th Street under the usual provisions to- wit: that the said Wichita Velie Motor Co., it s legal representatives, administrators, successors, assigns shall held the City harmless from any damages that may be caused by the installation of said Gasoline filling station and to remove same on notice from the Board of Alderman.
