The Board of Aldermen met in regular session on the above
date for the transaction of the business of the City, with Mayor W.D.
Cline presiding, and Aldermen Curlee, McFall, Bralley, McDowell, and City
Clerk Thorburn in attendance.
Mr. M.]B.' Buchanon tendered his resignation, to take effect
on the afternoon of May 20th, 1920, and after considerable discussion it
was moved by Alderman Curlee that same be accepted, which motion was sec-
onded by Alderman McFall and carried.
Moved by Alderman Curlee that the City Clerk be instructed
to ask Nichols & Co. for maps pertaining to New Sewer extensions,-in
which Mr. Buchanon gave assistance, and that same be turned over to City,
which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried.
Moiled by Alderman McFall that the action of Mayor Cline
in employing Julian Montgomery at a salary of $7,500.00 per year, com-
mencing June 1st, 1920, as City Engineer of the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas be approved by the Council, which motion was seconded by Alderman
Curlee'and carried.
Moved by Alderman McFall that on recommendation of Alder-
man McDowell, the fee for testing cattle be raised to 01.50, and that
his purchase of a Ford Car for Nine Hundred Dollars be approved, which
motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried.
Mr. Huey then came before the Council and made a lengthy
complaint about the lack of Public Utilities in the Scotland Addition,
and Alderman McDowell moved that this matter be referred to Alderman
Bonner, and that he Make a report and'recommendation on all Public Utili-
ties except Sewer at next meeting, which motion was seconded by Alderman
Curlee and carried.
Moved by Alderman Bonner that the former action of the
Council on the poles for lighting system of proposed "white way" be
ratified, which motion was seconded by Alderman Bralley and carried.
Moved by Alderman Curlee that the Bills of the City be
paid as per 0.Y. of the Finance Commissioner, which motion was seconded
by Alderman Bonner and carried.
The Council then adjourned.
