The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,
met in regular session on the above date with the following present:-

Moved by Alderman Clifford that W. E. McBroom be appointed
Secretary Pro-tem to act during the absence of Geo. W. Thorburn, City Secretary.
Motion seconded by Alderman Reed and carried.
Aldermen Clifford and Stayton were appointed by the Mayor
to investigate the bill of the Water Department for rental on trenching machine
used by the Sewer Department and to reach an agreement as to an equitable daily
charge for this machine the City Engineer having taken exception to a 435.00
per day charge for use of machine anly.

A delegation from the Sibley Taylor Addition representing
the Civic League of that section of the City called on the Council urging that
their request for the opening of Broad Street be immediately acted upon. They
were informed by the Ie'[ayor that negotiations were still under way for the pur-
chase of certain lots necessary for the opening of this street and that he would
be able to give that-a definite decision as to what the Council would do in this
matter on or before August 21st 1922.

Motion by Alderman Shepherd that the City Treasurer be in-
structed to make the following adjustments in the bank accounts in order to
bring them into agreement with the Treasurer's books at date of transfer of
fund to the Security Rational Bank:-

Error in making adjustment of Council's order dated June
12th 1922, covering correction of errors in Auditor Harris's report for fiscal
year ending March 31st 1921.
Motion seconded by Alderman Clifford and carried.

ORDINANCE i# 417
"AN ORDINANCE LEVYING, ASSESSING AND FIXING THE RATE OF
TAXATION IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, FOE THE YEAR A. D. 1922 AND
ALSO LEVYING AN OCCUPATION TAX ON ALL OCCUPATIONS TAXABLE UNDER TEE LAWS OF
TEE STATE OF TEXAS AND THE CHARTER AND ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY".
Was on motion of Alderman Shepherd seconded by Alderman
Stayton placed on its third and final reading and passed by the following
vote:-
Yeas: Reed, Stayton, Clifford, Shepherd.
Hayes: None.

Motion by Alderman Reed that Charles Bunnenburg be employed
as Superintendent of Parks & Cemeteries, effective August 16th 1922, to succeed
J. E. Dobson, resigned AgS alary of 150.00 per month.
Motion seconded by Alderman Clifford and carried.
