Min 11/12/1922 Morgan Building Wichita Falls, Texas. November 13th 1922. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, met in reg- ular session on the above date with the following present:- Frank Collier, Mayor B. A. Stayton q J. B. Fitts J. F. Reed d Aldermen N. M. Clifford 1 R. E. Shepherd V W. E. MoBroom, City Clerk E. M. Mann, city Attorney. ################################ Moved by Alderman Fitts that the M. K. & T. Railway be permitted to install an underground fuel oil tank at the north-west corner of Ohio and Ninth Streets. Motion seconded by Alderman Stayton and carried. ######################## A public hearing was had on the application of R. E. Sohoolfield for the location of a filling station and grocery store at the corner of Virginia and Ft. Worth Streets and no protests being heard the following mttion was put in order. Moved by Alderman Shepherd that a permit be granted under the ,� usual provisions to-wit:- That the said R. E. Sc oolfield their successors, administrators, assigns, and legal representatives shall hold the City of Wichita Falls, harmless from any damages that may arise from the operation of said filling station and Grocery Store, and that the installation of said filling station be made under the supervision of the City Engineer, and that they will cease to operate said filling station, and Grocery store when so ordered by the Board of Aldermen of the city of Wichita Falls, Texas. Motion seconded by Alderman Clifford and carried. ########################## Moved by Alderman Clifford that J. T. Workman be granted a per- mit to operate a hand laundry on the rear of Lot 11, Block 109 being 207 Seymour Street under the usual provisions to-wit: 1:V79 rtm That the said 3. T. Workman, his successors, administrators, ity,,/ assigns, and legal representatives shall hold the City of Wichita Falls, harmless from any damages that may arise from the operation of said hand laundry and that they will cease to operate said hand laundry, when so ordered by the Board of Aldermen of the city of Wichita Falls, Texas. Motion seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried. ######################## Moved by Alderman Stayton that the City of Wichita Falls ','.Water Department is hereby authorized to pay to the Scotland Realty Company on Decem- ber 15th 1922, the sum of 017,550.00 the same being the amount due them under contract dated April 25, 1919 between the Scotland Realty Company and the Wichita Falls Water Company. Motion seconded by alderman Clifford and carried. ######################## Moved by Alderman Clifford that 1920 taxes in the amount of ;35.43 be remitted on Lot 8, Block 15, Southland Addition, due to error in valuation. Motion seconded by Alderman Stayton and carried. ###################### Moved by Alderman Clifford that 1920 taxes on Lot 23, Block 3, Sibley Taylor in the amount of s13.78 be remitted due to error in valuation. Motion seconded by Alderman Stayton and carried. ##################### Moved by Alderman Shepherd that the penalties, interest and costs for the years 1897,1898, be remitted on S * Lot 6, Block 164, Original townsite due to error in certificate of Tax Assessor to W. F. Moved by Alderman Fitts that Ordinance No. be passed on its first reading. Motion seconded by Alderman Stayton and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Fitts, Clifford, Stayton, Shepherd, Reed. Nayes: None. Moved by Alderman Fitts that the rules requiring Ordinances to read on three separate days be suspended and an emergency declared. Motion seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Shepherd, Stayton, Clifford, Fitts, Reed. Nayes: None. ########################## ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE TIME OF THE REGULAR MEETINGS AND PRO- VIDING FOR SPECIAL MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS AND PROVIDING FOR AN EMERGENCY. Moved by ALDERMAN Clifford that Ordinance be passed on its second reading. motion seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried by the following vote. Yeas: Shepherd, Stayton, Clifford, Fitts, Reed. Moved by ALDERMAN Stayton that Ordinance be nassed on its third and final reading and be adopted as read. motion seconded by Alderman Fitts, and carried by the following vote:- Yeas: Shepherd., Stayton, Fitts, Reed, Clifford.
