. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in called
session on the above date, in the Council Room of the Neaorial Auditorium Building,
at 9:00 o'clock a.m., with the following members present:

Mayor Kindel Faulk stated this meeting had been called for the purpose of
passing such Resolutions as are necessary to call the April Municipal Election, name
election officials, and designate voting precincts, etc.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:

That an election be held in the City of Wichita Falls on April 6, 1954,
being the first Tuesday in April thereof, for the purpose of electing thq following :
officers of said City:

and notice at the places where the election is to be held, such notice shall be posted
at least thirty (30) days before the date of said election.

the purpose of all municipal elections hereafter held in the City of Wichita Falls, said
City Voting Precincts being numbered 1 - 25, and the location of such voting places shall
be herein indicated with qualified voters for such voting places indicated by County

That this Resolution is passed in accordance with Ordinance No. 1599 of
the City of Wichita Falls.

The City Clerk certified to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen the sufficiency

TO THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
We, the undersigned qualified voters and electors Ann the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas, HEREBY PETITION the City Council of Wichita Falls, Texas, as provided under
the Charter of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, under the Initiative -Sections
39 to 45, both inclusive thereof, and propose that the following RESOLUTION or
ORDINANCE, be adopted, to-wit:
"BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,
that the program now in effect of injecting sodium fluorine into the drinking
water of Wichita Falls, Texas, be suspended and abolished."
We further request and petition that should the City Council fail to forth-
with adopt this resolution or ordinance as proposed, or one of similar purport and
effect, eliminating the program of artificially fluoridating the drinking water
of Wichita Falls, Texas, that the matter be placed to a vote of the electors on the
ballot in the forthcoming City of Wichita Falls election to be held on the 6th day
of April, A. D., 1954, and/or as directed by said Charter.
