Min 02/24/1954 376 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Bldg. February 24, 1954 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in called session, on the above date, in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building, at 10-45 A.M., with the following members present: Kindel Faulk Mayor R. P. Willis Lloyd C. Thomas Jack L. Hammond Aldermen Dr. E. Aubrey Coot Elie E. Lam Geo. T. Henderson City Clerk H. A. Thomason City Manager J. Walter Friberg City Attorney Mayor Kindel Faulk stated the purpose of this meeting to be the awarding of bids for the construction of a 30 inch water main, and other bids hereinafter set forth. w", i`« Moved by Alderman Hammond that the bid for the construction and extension 'eot a 30 inch water main be awarded to R. B. Hodgson& Co. of Lubbock, Texas, for the sum of $130,181.10, being the lowest and best bid as appears in the bids recorded in the Minutes of the regular meeting held Feb. 22, 1954; acceptance of this bid being recommended by John P. Ruhmann, Director of Utilities, and H. A. Thomason, City Manager, on the Purchase Summary sheet attached hereto and made a part of the records 6 hereof; further to authorize and empower Mayor Kindel Faulk ate'= City Manager H. A. Thomason to execute a contract for the same on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls. Motion seconded by Alderman Lam and carried. '1; Moved by Alderman Cox that the bid for approximately 4535 ft. of wire mesh fence for the Disposal Plant, completely installed, be awarded to Ace Fence Co. of Wichita Falls, for the sum of $8545.45, being the lowest and best bid as appears in the bids recorded in the Minutes of the regular meeting held Feb. 22, 1954; said bid being recommended by F. M. Rugeley, Director of Public Works, and H. A. Thomason, City Manager, on the Purchase Summary attached hereto and made a part of the records hereof; further to authorize and empower Mayor Kindel Paulk 41p. City Manager H. A. Thomason to execute a contract for the same for and on behalf of the City. Motion seconded by Alderman Thomas and carried. } a�� Moved by Alderman Thomas that the bid for copper tubing for the Water Department be awarded to American Standard Radiator&Sanitary Corporation, for the sum of $4314.00, being the lowest and best bid as indicated in the bids recorded in the Minutes of the meeting held Feb. 22, 1954, which bid is recommended by John P. Ruhmann, Director of Utilities, and H. A. Thomason, City Manager, on the Purchase Summary attached hereto and made a part of the records hereof. Motion seconded by Alderman Hammond and carried. 1 Yw Moved by Alderman Willis that the bid for brass goods for the Water Department be awarded to Clowe & Cowan for the sum of $1872.53, being the lowest and best bid as indicated in the bids recorded in the Minutes of the meeting held Feb. 22, 1954, said bid being recommended by John P. Ruhman, Director of Utilities, and H. A. Thomason, City Manager, on the Purchase Summary attached hereto and made a part of the records hereof. Motion seconded by Alderman Thomas and carried. 3?7 4 k Moved by Alderman Thomas that the Board of Aldermen authorize and X} direct City Attorney, J. WalterFriberg, to settle the lawsuit with Jas A. Watson et al in the 30th District Court, for the sum of $1000.00, plus necessary court costs, and direct the City Clerk to draw a check for the same. Motion seconded by Alderman Hammond and carried. Moved by Alderman Cox that the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Alderman Hammond and carried. The Board of Aldermen tin adjourned. AFHWVED this the J day of , 1954.
