Resolution authorizing the repair of two raw water pumps for the Lake
Kemp Pump Station at Headquarters Road through the BuyBoard
Purchasing Cooperative to Smith Pump Co. Inc., in the amount of
$135,100.00
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls developed the supply of raw water from Lake
Kemp after the 1995 — 2000 drought, and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has been utilizing the supply of raw water
from Lake Kemp since 2008 as an integral part of the City's water resource management
portfolio, and
WHEREAS, Texas Local Government Local Government Code §252.022 exempts
items purchased through interlocal cooperative purchasing contracts from the State's
competitive bidding requirements; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls has passed a resolution
approving the participation in such cooperative agreements; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has received a quote from Smith Pump Co.
Inc. for repair of the pump and replacement with new pump, and it is in the best interest
to purchase the repair in accordance with the Cooperative Purchasing Programs,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is authorized to execute all documents necessary to award the
repair of the raw water pumps at the Lake Kemp Pump Station at Headquarters Road
through the BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative in the amount of$135,100.00.
