Min 06/23/1953 307 Ilahita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building June 23, 1953 • The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in called session on the above date, in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building, at 4:00 o'clock P.M., with the following members present: Kindel Faulk Mayor R. P.Willis X Lloyd C. Thomas d Jack L. Hammond Q Aldermen Dr. E. Aubrey Cax 0 Henry D. Mason D Geo. T. Henderson City Clerk Bill N. Taylor City Manager J. Walter Friberg City Attorney Mayor Faulk stated this meeting had been called for the purpose of discussing jointly, with the Traffic Commission, and property owners and business men on Austin and Travis streets, the one-may traffic situation on these streets. lengthy discussions were had by both proponents and opponents, principally opponents. City Attorney, J. Walter Friberg, Chairman of the Traffic Ca mnranission,reported that his committee had definitely voted for one-way traffic regulation on Austin and Travis Streets. The following motion was had: Moved by Alderman Williq that the Board of Aldermen authorize one-way traffic on Austin and Travis Streets from Ninth to Eighteenth Streets, only. Motion seconded by Alderman Thomas and carried. Moved by Alderman Mason that the Board of Aldermen approve the budget for the Health Unit for their fiscal year beginning July 1, 1953, as submitted by the City Manager, subject, however, to approval of Alderman Dr. E. Aubrey Cox. Motion seconded by AldermanThomas and carried. Moved by Alderman Thomas that the meeting be adjourned.
