The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular
session on the above date, in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building,
ti.
at 8:00 o'clock P.M., with the following members present:

Moved by Alderman Mason that the Minutes of the called session held
April 6, 1953, be approved.
Motion seconded by Alderman Montgomery and carried.
RESOLUTION NO. 232
WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Wichita Falls, Texas, held in the Memorial Auditorium Building in said City on the
13th day of April A.D. 1953, at which time a quorum was present, came on to be
considered the returns of the City Election held on the 7th day of April, 1953,
WHEREAS, after canvassing the returns of said election, it was found
to be duly and legally held in all respects, and there were cast at said election
329 votes, for the election of three Aldermen, and that •
FOR ALDERMAN POSITION 1:
R. P. Willis received 324 votes •
Gaylord Swarts " 1 "
Buford Dresser • " 1 "
FOR ALDERMAN POSITION 2:
Lloyd C. Thomas received 328 votes
G. W. Fbnd " 1 "
Barney Morgan " 1 "
Joe Pistocco " 1 "
FOR ALDERMAN POSITION 3:
Jack L. Hammond received 324 votes •
Ronnie Taylor " 1 " 4
Clovis D. Mann " 1 "
Dick Long " 2 "
Jim Childers " 1 "
AND, it appearing that R. P. Willis received the greatest number of votes
case at said election for Position 1; that Lloyd C. Thomas received the greatest
number of votes cast for Fbsition 2; and that Jack L. Hammond received the greatest
number of votes cast for Position 3;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
That R. P. Willis, Lloyd C. Thomas and Jack L. Hammond were duly and
legally elected Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, at said election, and
that said election was in all respects legally held in accordance with the laws of
the State of Texas and the Charter and Ordinances of said City.

Moved by Alderman Mason that Resolution No. 231 be adopted and passed
as read.
Motion seconded by-Alderman Montgomery and carried by the following
vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Willis, Thomas, Montgomery and Mason.

The oath of office was administered to R. P. Willis, Lloyd C. Thomas and
Jack L. Hammond by the City Clerk, thereupon the newly elect Aldermen were duly
seated.
Mrs W. L. Shirk, President of the Wichita Falls League of Nursing Educa-
tion, pointed out to the Board of Aldermen the advantages and necessity for the ,
proposed new housing facilities for student nurses on City-County property located
on Rose Street. The matter was taken under future advisement;
Bell Howie, Jr., representative of the Wichita Falls Boat Racing Club, ,i71
requested permission to hold their approaching boat racing event at Lake Kickapoo.
By common consent of the Council, the matter was referred to John P. Ruhmann, to
work out Satisfactory arrangements for both the Boat Racing Club and the City.
The Notice of Claim of injury sustained by Mrs Iola P. Wolfe, as alleged
by her attorney Ray Martin, was read to the Council by the City Clerk, whereupon
the matter was referred to the City Attorney, J. Walter Friberg for investigation.

Moved by Alderman Mason that the Board of Aldermen authorize payment to •
Hamilton Martin Investment Co. the sum of $1040.35, being payment due April 10,
1953, on a water main contract in the Fifth Supplemental Addition to the Country
Club Estates Addition, entered into by and between the City and Hamilton Martin
Investment Co. April 10, 1950, and direct the City Clerk to draw a check for the
same.
Motion seconded by Alderman Willis and carried.
Moved by Alderman Mason that the Board of Aldermen approve and authorize
the execution of a contract by and between the City of Wichita Falls and Turner &
Killebrew for drawing plans and specifications and obtaining bids for the new fire
dtation to be erected in Southmoor Addition; consideration to be Ltd of the contract
price of the new station; and to authorize and empower the City Manager to execute
,the contract for and on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls.
Motion seconded by Alderman Montgomery and carried.
Moved by Alderman Mason that the Board of Aldermen approve and adopt the
Flat of Faith Village, Unit 3, an addition to the City of Wichita Falls, a copy of
which is attached hereto and made a part of the records hereof.
Motion seconded by Aldermap Montgomery and carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 1639
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS,
BY ANNEXING CERTAIN TLANI6 ADJACENT TO THE PRESENT TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THE SAME LYING IN AN EASTERLY DIRECTION FROM THE PRESENT LIMITS
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, ALL OF WHICH LANDS ARE FULLY DESCRIBED IN THE
BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE.
