The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in n jie.,a^
session on the above date, in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building,
at 8:00 o'clock P.M., with the following members present:

Moved by Alderman Montgomery that the Minutes of the regular meeting held
March 23, 1953, be approved.
Motion seconded by Alderman Thomas and carried.

Mr. Wallander again appeared before the Council demanding that Fillmore
/'St. be opened across Kell Blvd. The matter was discussed pro dad con, whereupon
the following motioh was bade
Moved by Alderman Harvey that no more street crossings be opened across
Kell Blvd.
Motion seconded by Alderman Montgomery acid carried.
✓ A. S. Campese came before the Council to protest the construction of the
proposed highway over Houston Street.
Moved by Alderman Thomas that the Board of Aldermen authorize the issuance
of a permit to M. M. Cawley to erect a sign between the curb and sidewalk in front
of his place of business at 809 East Scott St., providing the same is installed'in
✓accordance with requirements of the City Engineer, with further provision that in-
stallation of the said sign meet with the approval of the State Highway Department.
It is further understood and agreed that the City may cause removal of this sign
one year from date hereof by giving 30 days notice inwriting.
Motion seconded by Alderman Harvey and carried.

Moved by Alderman Mason that the Board of Aldermen authorise the issuance
of a permit to Wichita Engineering Co. to erect a sign between the curb and'sidewalk
/at 315 N. Scott St., providing the same is installed in accordance with requirements
of the City Engineer; it being distinctly understood and agreed that the City may
cause removal of the same one year from date hereof by giving 30 days notice in writing.
Motion seconded by Alderman Thomas and carried.
w' ` ✓ Moved by Alderman Mason that the Board of Aldermen authorize payment to
N. H. Downing the sum of $451.56, being payment due April 1, 1953, on a water main
contract entered into by and between theCity and N. H. Downing Sept. 10, 1951, covering
Park Place Addition; and direct the City Clerk to draw a check for the same.
Motion seconded by Alderman Thomas and carried.

Moved by Alderman Harvey that theBoard of Aldermen authorize the execution
of a water main contract by and between N. H. Downing and the City, in the amount of
$867.87, for water mains in First Supplemental Addition to Park Place Addition to
the City of Wichita Falls, upon the terms and conditions recited in the said contract
and to authorize and empower Mayor Kindel Faulk to execute the same for and on behalf
of the City of Wichita Falls.

Moved by Alderman Harvey that the Board of Aldermen approve and authorize
the execution of a water main contract in the amount of $611.50; by and between
Ira Crews and J. M. Crews, for water mains in the Crews Addition to the City of
Wichita Falls, upon the terms and conditions recited in the said contract, and to
authorize and empower Mayor Kindel Faulk to execute the same for and on'behalf of the
City of Wichita Falls.
Motion seconded by Alderman Thomas and carried.
Moved by Alderman Harvey that theBoard of Aldermen approve and authorize,
and direct the City Tax Assessor and Collector to make tax refunds, or adjustments,
to the following persons for the following reasons: ,zm.
To Frank Brown, $30.85, for reason that payment received 2-114-53 was applied
against Lot lo, Blk A, Stehlik& Baber Addn. in error, whereas
the same should have been applied to Frank Brown personal taxes
for the year 1952.
To E. L.Smith, $14.08, for taxes paid in error on E 65 ft. of Lot 16, )B1k •
20 A, Highland Addn. for the year 1952.
To Mary Alexander $12.48, for taxes paid in error on Lot 9, WM S/D s'i of
Blk. 12, Bateson 2nd. for the year 1952.

To J. W. Marriott the sum of $28.48 for taxes paid in error on W 50 ft. of
Lot 4, 131k 15, Skinner Addn., plus personal automobile acct.

E7 Moved by Alderman Harvey that the Board of Aldermen approve and authorize
a tax refund to C. B. Wigley the sum of $35.00 on account of an error in assessing
personal property for the year 1951 and direct the City Clerk to draw a check for

the same.
Motion seconded by Alderman Montgomery and carried.
Moved by Alderman Mason that the contract for the construction of a concrete
pump pit for the sewage lift station on North Lamar be awarded to T. A. Litteken & ?4,,
Sons. Inc., for a consideration of $31t50.00. It is expressly understood and agreed
that the said T. A. Litteken &Sons Inc. shall furnish, without charge to the City,
property damage and public liability insurance in the amounts of $5000.00 and$2500.00
respectively.

Moved by Alderman Harvey that the Board of Aldermen authorize the execution*.
of a quit claim deed to Bob Cage and wife, Nellie Cage, for Lot 5, Bik 133, O'igina1, ,
for the consideration of the payment of a certain tax judgment styled "City of ✓
Wichita Falls vs E. D. Studdard et al No. 14, 8444-C," in the District Court of Wichita
County, Texas, and other good and valuable consideration; further to authorize and
empower Mayor Kindel Faulk or the City Manager, Bill N. Taylor, to execute the same
for and on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas.
Motion seconded by Alderman Montgomery and carried.
Moved by Alderman Mason that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman Harvey and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
