Mr. Bill N. Taylor, City Manager March 18, 1953

In Re: Change in Eastside, or Loop, bus route.
Dear Mr. Taylor:
Sometime ago City Attorney, J. Walter Friberg, conversed with me regarding a petition
which he had received from the residents of Juarez Street, requesting our bus route to
be removed from this street due to it being too narrow for parking of cars and being
used as a bus route, which created a hazard for the children playing on this street.
At this particular time I related to the City Attorney that due to Juarez Street being
the only improved street over which we could travel, I did not think it wise to make
thechange, therefore, no action was taken at this time with regards to our changing
from Juarez Street to Sullivan Street.
At present our route travels south on Rosewood to Juarez Street, west on Juarez Street
to Redwood Street, South in Redwood to Sullivan Street, then West on Sullivan.
In this letter I am requesting that you and the City Council give just consideration
to my changing this route to: South on Rosewood to Sullivan, then West on Sullivan.
/s/ D. H. Leffard, Supt.Transportation, Wichita City Lines,Inc.
Moved by Alderman Montgomery that the Board of Aldermen approve and authorise
the above and foregoing change in bus route.
Motion seconded by Alderman Mason and carried. ; ?
