The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in called
session on the above date, in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building,
at 10:00 A.M., with the following members present:

Mayor Paulk stated this meeting had been called for the purpose of conducting
a Public Hearing on Ordinance No. 1620 as duly advertised, and declared the Council ready
to hear from those present who desired to be heard.
ORDINANCE NO.1620
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1594 AND GRANTING TO WICHITA CITY LINES,
INC., A TEXAS CORPORATION, AND ITS LAWFUL SUCCESSORS THE RIGHT AND IVfl E TO CHARGE
A CASH FARE OF FIFTEEN (150 CENTS FOR ADULT PERSONS, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERNS AND
CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SUCH RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES SHALL BE EXERCISED.
Jack Ballard presented a petition, bearing some 275 names, requesting a
full investigation of the revenue of the Wichita City Lines, Inc., on both Sheppard
Field and city runs, before a raise in fares is granted.
Both proponents and opponents were heard and some objections were voiced
against the proposed increase in bus fares, while some sanctioned the increase.
Mayor Faulk requested that the officials of the Wichita City Lines, Inc.
present a more detailed and comprehensive statement at the hearing to be resumed
Monday night, July 14, 1952.
Moved by Alderman Montgomery that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman Mason and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
