Min 04/28/1952 353 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Bldg. April 28, 1952 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular session on the above date, in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building, at 8:00 otclock P.M., with the following members present: Kindel Paulk Mayor R. P. Willis Francis L. Harvey E. Aubrey Cox M.D. ) Aldermen J. Paul Montgomery Henry D. Mason j Geo. T. Henderson City Clerk F. M. Rugeley Acting City Manager J. Walter Friberg City tttorney Moved by Alderman Montgomery that the Minutes of the called meeting held April 23, 1952, be approved. Motion seconded by Alderman Harvey and carried. Jack Ballard again appeared before the Council asserting that the ordinance previously passed granting Wichita Lines In;. an increase in bus fares, is invalid. City-Atte'rney Walter Friberg presented a written opinion to the effect that the City had complied with the charter requirements in all respects and the said ordinance was valid, whereupon Jack Ballard served written notice of appeal to the District Court. Mrs Dixon, who resided at 1637 Southern Street, appeared before the Council and requested that a portion of Southern Street be paved, beginning at Bridwell St. and extending west approximately 400 feet. Mrs Dixon stated the property owners on this street had cash to pay their portion of the paving cost. Acting City Manager, F. M. Rugeley, stated the City has no available funds for further street paving, thereupon Mayor Kindel Faulk stated the matter would be taken under future advisement. Moved by Alderman Mason that the Board of Aldermen grant a 12-month extension to Roy Brown, for a consideration of $1.50 per acre per year, covering that certain contract entered into by and between the City and Roy Brown on June 1, 1951, covering a certain tract of land at Lake Kiekapoo leased for gracing purposes. Motion seconded by Alderman Willis and carried. Moved by Alderman Harvey that the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Alderman Montgomery and carried. The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
