Memorial Auditorium Bldg.
March 10, 1952
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular
session on the above date, at 7-30 o'clock P.M. in the Council Room of the Memorial
Auditorium Building, with the following members present:

J. Paul Montgomery
R. J. Brown
Geo. T. Henderson City Clerk
Bill N, Taylor City Manager
J. Walter Friberg City Attorney
The Minutes of the regular meeting held February 25, 1952, were approved,
likewise the Minutes of the called meeting held March 3, 1952, were approved.
Mr. Ritchie, who resides in Southmoor Addition, presented a petition to the
Council, requesting that the name of Malcomb Street be changed back to Eden Lane. The
matter was referred to the City Engineer for investigation, and recommendation.
Moved by Alderman Willis that the Wichita Boating Club be permitted to remove
such iron stabs from that portion of Lake Wichita which affect the activities of the
Wichita Boating Club.
Motion seconded by Alderman Ray and carried.
Moved by Alderman Thomas that the Board of Aldermen authorize tax refunds
to the Kemp Hotel in the amount of $691.60, and Joe E. Steed in the amount of $203.72,
on account of double tax payments and to direct the City Clerk to draw warrants for
the same.
Motion seconded by Alderman Montgomery and carried.
Moved by Alderman Thomas that the Board of Aldermen approve and authorize
the execution of a Consent and Attornment to First Supplement,to Airport Agreement
by and between Fuieher Armstrong dba Wichita Falls Air Transport Company and Continental
Air Lines, Inc., dated March 10, 1952; further to authorize Mayor Harold Jones to
execute the same for and on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls, a copy of which is
being retained in the Office of the City Clerk for future reference.
Motion seconded by Alderman Brown and carried.
A Public Hearing was held on Resolution No. 193. There being no opposition
voiced against the same, the following motion was had:
Moved by Alderman Thomas that the Public Hearing on Resolution No. 193 be
closed.
Motion seconded by Alderman Ray and carried.

ORDINANCE NO. 1605 " .
ORDINANCE CLOSING HEARING AND LEVYING ASSESSMENTS FOR FART OF THE COST OF
IMPROVING A PORTION OF BRINELL STREET AND A PORTION OF TRUEHEART AVENUE IN THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, FIXING CHARGES AND LIENS AGAINST PROPERTIES ABUTTING
ON SAID PORTION OF BRIDWELL STREET AND SAID PORTION OF TRUEHEART AVENUE AND AGAINST
THE OWNERS THEREOF, PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF SUCH ASSESSMENTS AND THE ISSUANCE
OF ASSIGNABLE CERTIFICATES IN EVIDENCE THEREOF, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
Moved by Alderman Thomas that Ordinance No. 1605 be approved and passed
as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Montgomery and carried by the following
vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Willis, Thomas, Ray, Montgomery and Brown.
Nays: None.
ORDINANCE NO. 1606
AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING THAT PORTION OF GALVESTON STREET
LYING BETWEEN BLOCKS 19 and 31: OF THE J. A. KEMP ADDITION AND ABANDONING AND CLOSING
A PORTION OF EDWARIS STREET BEGINNING AT THE SOUTH LINE OF THE FORT WORTH HIGHWAY
WHERE THE SAME CROSSES EJ7WARIS STREET AND ENDING AT THE NORTH LINE OF THE ALLEY IN
BLOCK 31:, ALL OF THE J. A. KEMP ADDITION OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, WICHITA
COUNTY, TEXAS, BUT RESERVING UTILITY EASEMENTS.
Moved by Alderman Ray that Ordinance No. 1606 be approved and passed as
read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Willis and carried by the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Willis, Thomas, Ray, Montgomery and Brown.
Nays: None.

Moved by Alderman Montgomery that permission be granted to Wichita Falls
Production Credit Association for the use of the Memorial Auditorium April 16,
1952, for the minimum day time schedule charge.
Motion seconded by Alderman Brown and carried.
The application of enior High School for use of the Memorial Auditorium ✓
for graduation exercises in Mirhs referred to the City Manager.
Moved by Alderman Willis that the Board of Aldermen authorize the issuance
of a permit to Bing's Steak House, to erect a sign between the curb and sidewalk 'f-
at 12th & Travis Street, for a period of one year, providing that sane is erected
in accordance with requirements of the City Engineer.
Motion seconded by Alderman Ray and carried.

Moved by Alderman Brown that permission be granted to the Unique Variety
Store to lay a fuel pipe line under the alley to their place of business, located
at 1628 Harrison, providing the same is buried two feet below the surface of the

ground.
Motion seconded by Alderman Montgomery and carried.
Moved by Alderman Thomas that the Board of Aldermen approve the Plat of
the City of Wichita Falls Housing Authority, more particularly described as Falls
Park Homes Addition to the City of Wichita galls, Texas, a copy of which is attached
hereto and made a part of the records hereof.
Motion seconded by Alderman Willis and.carried.
