Ordinance Accepting $39,217.00 Of Grant Funds Pursuant To The
2012 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG)
Program (Local Solicitation Award #2012- DJ -BX- 0868), Appropriating
Said Funds To The Special Revenue Fund, And Authorizing The City
Manager To Execute All Documents Necessary To Accept and Share
Said Funds
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has been notified that it is eligible for
$39,217.00 from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program;
WHEREAS, these funds will be shared by the Wichita Falls Police Department
($21,569.35) and Wichita County, Texas ($17,647.65), co- applicants for such grant;
and
WHEREAS, the use of these funds are planned to be used to assist in the
purchase of a Police Traffic Moving Radar System, Semi -Auto Sniper Rifle, SWAT
40mm Multi- Launcher, CDR Cables, Compact Infrared Viewer, Disposable Transport
Hoods, Ultra -Lite 100 Laser, Adobe Photoshop Software, Desktop Computer, and a
DVD Copier.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. The City of Wichita Falls hereby accepts the sum of $39,217.00 as awarded
by the 2012 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program, and said funds
are appropriated to the Special Revenue Fund to account for the revenues and
expenditures of the program.
2. The City Manager is authorized to execute all documents necessary to accept
and share the aforementioned grant funds, including, but not limited to, agreements
with granting agencies and with Wichita County.
