Ordinance Authorizing The City Manager To Execute All Documents
Necessary To Apply For And Accept Up To $5 Million In Federal
Aviation Administration Grants For The Construction Of Phase I
Parking Lot And Entry Road Facilities At Wichita Falls Municipal
Airport And Appropriating Said Funds To The FAA Airport
Improvement Grant 2012 Fund.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has assumed responsibility from Sheppard
Air Force Base in its lease agreement for the repair and maintenance of leased
property at Wichita Falls Municipal Airport;
WHEREAS, the City has identified the need for the construction of a new
commercial passenger terminal to better serve the traveling public;
WHEREAS, possible funding for the Phase I Parking Lot and Entry Road project
may be available from the Federal Aviation Administration, and the City desires to
apply for up to $5 million for assistance in completing Phase I of this project from the
Federal Aviation Administration; and,
WHEREAS, the City will pay 10% of the cost of the project, up to an amount of
$555,556, using Airport Equity, Airport Operational Revenue, Passenger Facility
Charges and Customer Facility Charges.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to
pursue, apply for, and accept the aforementioned Federal Aviation Administration grant
for the construction of Phase I Entry Road and Parking Lot facilities at Wichita Falls
Municipal Airport, and said funds are hereby appropriated to the FAA Airport
Improvement Project Grant 2012 Fund.
