Res 038-2021 Wayfinding Signage Repair 4/6/2021 Resolution No. 38-2021
Resolution selecting Geograph Industries, Inc. as the sole source for
the repair of the Wayfinding Signs, and authorizing the City Manager
to negotiate and execute a contract with said Geograph Industries, Inc.
in a total amount that shall not exceed $181,000.00
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls Wayfinding Signs require repair to improve
their stability and longevity; and, properly advertised and requested proposals for the
purchase, fabrication and installation of Exterior Signage (Wayfinding signage project);
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this agreement is exempt from the state
requirements for competitive bidding pursuant to Texas Local Government § 252.022
(a)(7)(D), which exempts from competitive bidding purchases of"items are available from
only one source, including: captive replacement parts"; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the agreement between the City of Wichita
Falls and Geograph Industries, Inc. is necessary to ensure the proper repair to the
damaged signs and to the continued use of the wayfinding signs as directional indicators
for City landmarks and locations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Geograph Industries, Inc. is selected as the sole source to repair the damaged
Wayfinding signs due to having the captive replacement, and the City Manager is
authorized to negotiate and execute a contract, approved by the City Attorney, with
Geograph Industries, Inc. in a total amount that shall not exceed $181,000.00.
