Min 08/02/1951 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building August 2, 1951 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in called session on the above date, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building, with the following members presents Harold Jones Mayor R. P. Willis Lloyd Thomas Francis L. Harvey 1 Aldermen J. R. Ray J. Paul Montgomery R. J. Brown J. B. Hickerson City Clerk Frank Wood City Manager J. Walter Friberg City Attorney Mayor Harold Jones stated the purpose of this meeting to be consideration of Ordinance No. 1570. ORDINANCE NO. 1570 AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, BY ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS ADJACENT TO THE PRESENT TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FATJS, TEXAS, THE SAME LYING IN A NORTHERLY DIRECTION FROM THE PRESENT CITY .' LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, ALL OF WHICH LANDS ARE MORE FULLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE. Moved by Alderman Harvey that Ordinance No. 1570 be introduced, and that a Public Hearing be set for 12 o'clock Noon, August 11, 1951, on Ordinance No. 1570. Motion seconded by Alderman Brown and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Willis, Thomas, Harvey, Ray, Montgomery and Brown. Nays: None. Moved by Alderman Montgomery that Mayor Harold Jones be authorized to sign, for and on behalf of the City of Wichita Fails, a Water Main Contract with Hairston &Best Lumber Co. in amount $7404.53, in John W. Thomas Subdivision R Blocks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11, north of the Wichita Valley Railroad and west of Wenonah Street, Wichita Falls; payments to be made on 33 1/3 percent of water revenue from this territory for 15 years, unless paid in lessor time, the first payment to be May 1, 1952. Motion seconded by Alderman Ray and carried. Moved by Alderman Brown that the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Alderman Harvey and carried.
