January 26, 1995

II. Committee Reports
A. Code enforcement. -There are only two officers for the entire
city. Everyone was encouraged to talk to City Council about
getting more officers for Code Enforcement. It was also noted
that we need to find a city witl the same population as
Wichita Fails and see how many Code Enforcement officers they
had,
B. Streets and Alleys -John Burra�: from the traffic -�ontiol
department was present to help with any questions or
complaints. The main complaint was about the intersection of
Kell, Scott, and Walnut Streetand will talk with the state
highway department and also with Mr. Preston. He will also
check with them about the lighting situation from Thompson Rd.
to Cottonwood Lane. There was a question about lighting and
the size of the lights on Rosewood, from Chance to Flood
Street. Mr. Burras said he would also talk to them about
that. There will be a traffic count on the intersection of
Rosewood and Scott Street and will report back later.
C. Transit Committed -There will be a study done of the Transit
system later in the year.
III.Goals for 1995
A. Thank Mr. Preston for sidewalks on Eastside Drive.
B. Beautification of Eastside Drive.
C. Talk to Mr. Christie about Eastside's preticipation in the HHH
and a bike trail.
D. Resurface Eastside Drive
E. Lots for Beautification
F. New Transit Route for Eastside.
G. Bus Shelters from City Planning,
H. Name change for Eastside Drive to Mai -tin Luther King Drive,

IV. Policp-Neighnorho:7�� Watch Program. Need to mail out letters to
all neighborhood watch captins to see who is still meeting and
who is not. Need to reactivate the list of Eastside Watch groups
and we will supply the list. Caroyln Berryman will be at every
Eastside Revitalization Committee meeting. She is a member of
Wichita Pails Police Department.
V. Check on a general telephone number for residents to report crime
