The meeting was called to order at 5:40 PM by Chairman Henry White.
Minutes were read by Secretary Brenda Jarrett.
Minutes stood approved as distributed.
A progress report on the Paint Program was given by Paint Program Coordinator Debbie
Ochodnicky. 35 applications have been received thus far and 16 vouchers for paint have
been distributed. 10 homes are currently being painted on a self-help basis. Volunteers
are still needed to paint homes with owners unable to do the painting themselves.
Problems that occurred at a home on Walnut Street that was painted by volunteers was
discussed. The possibility of using juveniles as paint program volunteers was also
discussed.
Election of new officers was postponed to the next regular meeting. The committee
would like a larger turn out of members to hold an election.
Mr. Luedke gave a report on a meeting held in the Kemp Addition. The meeting was
very positive. Neighborhood residents showed much support for improvement efforts.
Suggestion was made to request the presence of every pastor from all the churches in
Eastside at future committee meetings.
Committee agreed that focus should be on support of neighborhood organizations.
Futurt- meetings should be held at locations in the different neighborhoods in Eastside.
The meeting adjourned at 6:10 PM.
