The meeting was called to order at 5:38 p.m. by Chairman White.
The minutes could not be approved since copies were not available.
Mr. Clark introduced Neighborhood Planner Richard Luedke to the group.
Additions to the Final Report were handed out to the group. The first addition
addressed police enforcement in the neighborhood. The second addition was a
corrected version of the recreational activities report. The final addition was a
revision of the information/organization section. Item 3, a call to establish an
"association of neighborhood organizations" was added to this section.
Mr. Thompson motioned to accept the recommendations set forth in the final
report. Motioned carried.
Mr. Thompson reported that the Jerusalem Community Development
Corporation has recently completed construction of its first home which is now
occupied. He also noted that seven homes are to be purchased by the end of
the month with renovations beginning in January.
Ms. Fitch, Housing Administrator for the City of Wichita Falls, presented and
summarized two available programs. These included the Housing Rehabilitation
Program and First -Time Home Buyers Program. Ms. Fitch urged the group to
get the word out about the availability of these programs.
Mr. Clark discussed the Job Development and Business Development
opportunities addressed in the Final Report.
The group agreed that the next step in the process is to disseminate the findings
of the Final Report among the community.
Discussion arose as to the date and location of next meeting. Mr. Clark stated
that staff would survey committee members of their preference due to
approaching Christmas holiday.
