The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Chairman
Henry White.
The minutes were approved as submitted.
Mr. Clark addressed the committee with the nine points
detailed in the report and explained that action is what's
needed.
Ms. Jarrett - Youth The Park and Recreation in addition to
to the Boys and Girls Clubs are continuing their regularly
scheduled programs for our youth. JTPA has jobs available
for our youth through the after school program. An organiza-
tion that Ms. Jarret is association with will be opening
a Youth Opportunity Center. This center will concentrate
on the fine arts and education along with having programs
that are designed by the youth.
James Williams - Streets/Alleys- will give report at next

Potter Bowles - Police- Mr. Bowles asked
of the Wichita ?alls Police Department to speak to the
committee in order for a Policeman to do an adequate job
information of a crime is what's important. Peftg-i-r� A,gv1S
suggested that increase in patrol will detour crime.
James Welburn - Code Enforcement - Mr. Welburn stated that
a significant amount of complaints have been taken care of.
The resources from the City, State University and Texas
Extension Services should be utilized more according to Mr.
Welburn.
James Welburn - Educational Opportunities - The JTPA program
has training available for youth and adults who meet income
guidelines. JTPA considers training for "Demand Occupations"
as occupations for which a demand currently exists and for
which job opportunities are expected to exist in the future.
Mr. White commented that the information regarding all
available programs should be made known to public.
