Meeting was called to order at 5:35p.m. by Chairman
Henry White. Invocation was given by Pastor J.C. White.
The minutes were read of last meeting and were adopted'.
Paul Stillson read the mission statement of the Eastside
Revitalization Committee "The Eastside Revitalization
Committee is designed to encourage the growth of the
Eastside community (district 2)." A motion was made by
Councilman Angus Thompson and second by Pastor J.C. White.
Motion was adopted to accept-z--7 the mission statement of
the Eastside Revitalization committee.
REPORT OF THE TOUR WITH BANK OF AMERICA
Several areas were toured with 3 or 4 representatives from
Bank of America. The areas were: Williams Street, Williams
Park, Flood Street and Washington School. Dave clark from
Community Development attended tour.
REVIEW OF BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Paul Stillson handed -out background information on other
communities with same problems that we are facing. The
success of the communities were discussed. Suggestions
were made on starting• with a targeted area of severai
blocks at a time. The flood plain and zoning should be
reviewed carefully.
Dave Clark discussed how we should begin. Town meetings
are scheduled for the East Lynwood Community Center,
Martin Luther Center and Jalonic Park Community Center.
The meetings will be held at 7:OOp.m. and are designed
to get input from the residents.
