Resolution authorizing the purchase of one TMX-50-4 Aircraft Tractor
from Aero Specialties, Inc. in the amount of $69,933.30
WHEREAS, the City's fixed base operator (FBO) services at Regional Airport
require the acquisition of an aircraft tractor; and
WHEREAS the City Council finds that this purchase is exempt from the state
requirements for competitive bidding pursuant to Texas Local Government § 252.022
(a)(7)(A), which exempts from competitive bidding purchases of "items that are available
from only one source because of patents, copyrights, secret processes, or natural
monopolies," and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that purchasing a TMX-50-4 Aircraft Tractor to
assist in the relocation of aircraft at Regional Airport is in the best interest of the City of
Wichita Falls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
City Staff is authorized to execute all documents necessary to purchase one TMX-
50-4 Aircraft Tractor from Aero Specialties, Inc. in the amount of $69,933.30.

No alternative source was found online. I contacted the manufacturer, TLD-America.
Jeff Barrett, Exec VP Sales, told me to contact Tony Cale_with Aero Specialties as
they are the distributor for this unit. I contacted Mr. Cale and he confirmed that theme
were not on any purchasing cooperative and that they were the only supplier of th_e product.
