The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas* met in regular
session on the above date at 8:00 o'clock P. M. in the Council Room of the Memorial
Auditorium Building,, with the following members presents
Harold Jones Mayor
R. P. Willis
Lloyd Thomas
J. Paul Montgomery
R. J. Brown
J. B. Hickerson City Clerk
Frank Wood City Manager
J. Walter Friberg City Attorney
Approximately 100 property owners were present to protest against the
policy recently announced by the City Council that paving would be done under the
Miscellaneous Program only where property owners signed up 100 percent to partici-
pate. After much discussion Mayor Harold Jones suggested that the City Manager,
Stuckey Construction Co. representatives and the City Engineer meet Tuesday, April
24th, 19510 and endeavor to arrive at a policy allowing some exceptions to the
100 percent rules, and report their recommendations back to the Council at a later
date.
The Board of Aldermen instructed the City Manager, Frank Wood, to
investigate the possibility of placing a sign in front of 1025 Indiana by
the American Cancer Society and report on same at a later date.
Moved by Alderman Thomas that Pittsburgh -Des Moines Steel Co. be
granted a 52 calendar day extension on their contract to erect a million gal.
elevated water tank, moving the completion date up from June 22, 1951, to Aug*
13, 1951, as requested in their letter of March 262 1951.
Motion seconded by Alderman Willis and carried.
Moved by Alderman Thomas that the Ransdell Construction Co. be granted
a 60 calendar day extension on their contract for improvements to the Wichita Falls
Filteration Plant, as requested in their letter of March 26, 1951.
Motion seconded by Alderman Brown and carried.
Moved by Alderman Montgomery that the request of the Wichita Falls
Chamber of Commerce to stage the Armed Forces Day and Wheat Harvest Festival Parade on
Saturdagr, May 199 19512 and to close Indiana Ave. between 9th St* and loth St.
for rides,# shows, etc., be granted.
Motion seconded by Alderman Brown and carried.
Moved by Alderman Willis that the proposed re -plat of the North half
of Block 31 Inglewood Addition, and a tract out of Block 188 J. A. Scott Survey, by
Fred Cone Co. be approved subject to the survey and confirmation of lines by the
City Engineer.
Motion seconded by Alderman Brown, and carried.

Acceptance of the proposed sub -division: submitted by Monte Rinears
of the block of land lying between Sunset Drive and Polk Street and north of
the 5th Sto Highw4.2 to be known as the Stadium Additions was deferred until
the Dedication prohibits any encroachment of any character within the utility
easement' and the width of the proposed streets meet the requirements of the
City ordinance governing such mattersp as recommended by the City Engineer.
