The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date with the following members pres- ent: R. E. Shepherd, Mayor P. B. Curd, Q J. W. Hunt, Aldermen J. H. Patton, Frank Queisser,d W. E. McBroom, City Clerk W. E. George, City Attorney. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Moved by Alderman Curd that the Taylor Brothers be permitted to store concrete building material in 10 feet of the street in front of 314 Ohio Street for a period of seven (7) days. Motion seconded by Alderman Queisser and carried. The hearing with reference to paving Broad Street from Sixth to Eighth Streets was called and after hearing no protests the following motion was put in order. Moved by Alderman Curd that the following resolution be adopted. Motion seconded by Alderman Patton and carried by the following vote: Yeas; Aldermen Curd, Hunt, Patton, Queisser Nays; None. The hearing with reference to paving Ninth Street from Indiana Avenue to Scott Avenue was called and after hearing protests the following motion was put in order. Moved by Alderman Curd that the tax valuation for 1926 on Alberts Grocery at 906 Van Buren be reduced from $3,070.00 to $p2,170.00, and the taxes on over -valuation be remitted. Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried. Moved by Alderman Curd that W. S. Ellis be permitted to construct a brick business house at the intersection of Hayes gtreet and Seymour Road. Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried. Moved by Alderman Hunt that W. S. Ellis be permitted to store gravel in the street at the corner of Hayes Street and Seymour Road for a period of ten (10) days. Motion seconded by Alderman Patton and carried. Moved by Alderman Patton that the Mayor be authorized to execute a quit claim deed to clear title as to delinquent taxes on Lots 12, 13 and 14, Block 64, Original Townsite. Whitham and Company, in accordance with the plans and specifications there- for, heretofore filed with your honorable Body. I, therefore, recommend that this pavement be ac- cepted. Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried. ------------------------- Moved by Alderman Hunt that the City Treasurer be instructed to call for redemption as of April 3, 1927 refunding Number 3 Bonds in the amount of $500.00 now owned by Water Number 1, Sinking Fund and the City Clerk be instructed to draw warrant payable to water Number 1, Sinking Fund for this Bond. Motion seconded by Alderman Curd and carried. -------------------------- Moved by Alderman Hunt that the City Treasurer be instructed to call for redemption as of April 10, 1927 the following described bonds: City Hall Number 2 Bonds, numbered 6 and 7- 1,000.00 City Hall Number 3 Bonds, numbered 5 and 6- 1,000.00 Street Paving Number 2 Bonds, numbered 25, 26 and 27------------------------- $1,500.00 Motion seconded by Alderman Curd and carried. ---------------------------- Moved by Alderman Hunt that the City Treasurer be instrunted to transfer $500.00 from City Hall Number 2, Interest Fund, to City Hall Number 2, Sinking Fund, on account of overage in Interest Fund and shortage in Sinking Fund of $500.00, due to clerical error. Motion seconded by Alderman Queisser and carried. ---------------------- Moved by Alderman Hunt that the Police Department be authorized to buy a new motor for the Dodge Patrol from McFall Bros. at an approximate cost of $300.00. Motion seconded by Alderman Queisser and carried. ----------------------- Moved by Alderman Hunt that the City accept for street purposes the South 5 feet of Lot No. 7, Block 19, Sibley - Taylor Second Addition conveyed by T. P. Walker and I. E. Harwell by deed dated February 17, 1927. Motion seconded by Alderman Patton and carried. ----------------------- Moved by Alderman Queisser that the Fire Department be authorized to add an additional room to Number 4, Fire Station at a cost of approximately $600.00. Motion seconded by Alderman Curd and carried. ----------------------- Moved by Alderman Curd that the hearing with refer- ence to paving North Lamar Street from North Wichita Street to North Brook Street be continued until 7:30 P. M. March 7, 1927. Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried. ----------------------- Moved by Alderman Curd that the City Attorney be instructed to start condemnation proceedings on approximately 100 x 150 feet of land owned by Mrs. E. F. Anderson on the West side of the City to be used by the water department for a storage tower..
