The hearing with reference to paving Taylor Street from Avenue "M" to the Wichita Valley Railway was called and after hearing protests the following motion was put in order. J'Z 4'0 Moved by Alderman Hunt that estimate J8 covering the construction of the sewerage disposal plant of Callahan, Whitham and McFarland in the amount of $8,406.90 and engineering services of Montgomery and Ward in the amount of $210.17 be approved and allowed. Motion seconded by Alderman Jones and carried. Moved by Alderman Patton that the Park Department be authorized to improve and beautify the grounds surrounding the sewerage disposal plant and in consideration of such improvements be allowed to use approximately twenty acres of land adjacent to and owned by the sewerage disposal plant for a period of twenty years, said land to be used by the Park Department for the purpose of a nursery. Provided, however, that in the event the sewage disposal plant is extended during this time the Park Department will vacate any portion of the land used in the construction of said extention, provided further that the Park Department be allowed to use water and fertilizer from the sewage disposal plant free of charge Burin` the time it maintains said nursery. Moved by Alderman Curd that the water department be authorized to replace 2 inch galvanized Park Line with a 3 inch cast iron under the pavement in front of the Fire Station at Seventh Street and Wofford Street at an approximate cost of $115.21. Moved by Alderman Curd that the street department be authorized to buy material for constructing two dump carts at an approximate cost of $150.00 and the City Clerk be instructed to ad- vertise for bid for furnishing the street department one two (2) ton truck.
