February 14, 1927 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date with the following members present: R. E. Shepherd, Mayor. Oral Jones, 4 P. B. Curd, J. W. Hunt, 4 Aldermen. J. H. Patton, C Frank Queisser, W. E. McBroom, City Clerk. W. E. George, City Attorney. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Moved by Alderman Curd that the Wichita Falls Traction Company be permitted to move their telephone booth from the corner of Ninth Street and Indiana Avenue to the corner of Eighth Street and Indiana Avenue. Motion seconded by Alderman Queisser and carried. The hearing with reference to paving Twelfth Street from the Wichita Valley Railway track to Ohio Avenue was called and after hearing the protests of The Wichita Valley Railway Co. and J. G. James, the -following motion was -put in order. Moved by Alderman Hunt that the contract and proceed- ings heretofore had with reference to paving Twelfth Street from the Wichita Valley Railway track to Ohio Avenue be cancelled and annulled. Motion seconded by Alderman Jones and carried. Moved by Alderman Hunt that the plat and dedication of Mundell's Sub -Division be approved. Motion seconded by Alderman Patton and carried. The hearing with reference to paving Seventh Street from the Fort Worth and Denver Railway track to the alley between Indiana and Scott Avenues :as called and after hearing protests the following motion was put in order. RESOLUTION DECLARING THE NECESSITY OF IMPROVING BROOK AVENUE, FROPI THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF SEVENTH STREET TO PRESENT PAVING, APPROXIIATELY 75 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF EIGHTH STREET, IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, STATING THE NATURE OF SUCH IM- PROVEMENT AND THE METHOD BY WHICH IT IS PROPOSED THAT PAYMENT BE MADE THEREFOR, AND DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO HAVE PLANS, PROFILES, SPECIFICATIONS AND ESTIMATES OF THE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS PREPARED. Moved by Alderman Jones that the water department be authorized to install fire plugs at the following locations: Southeast Corner of Bridwell and Ardath Streets at an approximate cost of $129.50. Corner of Twenty Third Street and Bridwell Street at an approximate cost of $129.50. Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried. Moved by Alderman Jones that the City Clerk be instruct- ed to advertise for bids for seating the new Auditorium; said bids to be received at 10 A. M. oTclock on in., 1927. Motion seconded by AldermJ' Hunt and carried. Moved by Alderman Jones that the water department, City Clerk and Tax Collector be authorized to pay the emergency items of expense out of petty cash funds and that these departments be authorized and instructed to set up on their books petty cash funds as follows: Water Department---------- - 200.00 City Clerk------------------ 200.00 Tax Collector -------------- 200.00 The City Clerk is authorized to reimburse these funds upon receipt of properly signed petty cash vouchers supported by receipted bills or invoices.
