Moved by Alderman Hunt that the claim of the N. 0. Nelson
Manufacturing Company for adjustment on taxes assessed for the year
1926 against their personal property be referred to Commissioner Jones
for investigation and report.

The hearing to property owners with reference to paving
Bridc:iell Street from Pearl Street to Speedway was called and after
hearing the protests of S. M. Seals, C. E. Lebrick, R. E. Huff, The
Wichita Falls Independent School District and W. F. Gold, owners of
1500 feet fronting on this project, the following motion was put in
order.

Pearl to Speedway
RESOLUTION WITH REGARD TO THE PAVING OF BRIDWELL STREET
OMITTING THAT PORTION OF SAID STREET FROM THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF
WILSON STREET TO THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF ARDATH STREET, AND DIVIDING
THE ORIGINAL PROJECT INTO TWO SEPARATE AND DISTINCT PARTS.
WHEREAS, the hearing with reference to paving Bridwell
Street, from the South Property Line of Pearl Street, to the North
Curb Line of Speedway Street, in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,
was called in its due order before the Board of Aldermen and after
receiving the petition of protests filed by various interested property
owners, and after carefully considering the various pleas and protests
of owners present at said hearing, it is deemed necessary and advisable
that the paving on that portion of said Bridwell Street, from the South
property line of Wilson Street to the North Property Line of Ardath
Street be omitted at this time, and
WHEREAS, the owners of property on Bridwell Street from the
South property line of Pearl Street to the South Property Line of
Wilson Street, and owners of property on Bridwell Street from the North
Property Line of Arciath Street to the North Curb Line of Speedway in
said city, are desirous of proceeding with the pavement of the said

latter portions of said street at this time, regardless of whether Bridwell
Street between Wilson Street and Ardath Street be paved at this time or not,
and
WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and advisable by this board to
changed the original bounds of the paving of Bridwell Street, as above
noted by omitting a certain portion of the same as above specified, to
divide the original project into two separate and distinct paving projects
on said Bridwell Street, the same being a direct result of the said hearing
of property owners and of thier reports and protests.
NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS TEXAS, THAT:

Be it resolved and ordered that the hearing with reference to
paving Bridwell Street, from the South Property Line of Pearl Street, to
the North Curb Line of Speedway Street in said city be, and the same is
now closed and that that portion of Bridwell Street from the South Proper-
ty Line of Wilson Street, to the North Property Line of Ardath Street be
omitted and released from the original paving bounds and limits of said
project, and that the remaining portion of said street as originally de-
scribed for paving be divided into two separate and distinct projects; viz.,
Bridwell Street, from the South Property Line of Pearl Street to the
South Property Line of Wilson Street, and Bridwell Street, from the North
Property Line of Ardath Street to the North Curb Line of Speedway, and
that all estimates, plans, profiles and specifications with reference to
the original bounds and limits of said described project are here adopted,
ratified and approved as to the two above described separate projects. And
that all matters and things be now proceeded with, as required by law and
by the Charter of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, to pave the respective
portions of Bridwell Street above described in said city that are not
eliminated from the original limits and bounds of said street.

This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage.

and Travis Streets be reduced from 45000.00 to 91000.00 for the year 1924.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried.
Moved by Alderman Jones that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman Patton and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
