Call to Order: David called the meeting to order at 1:00, declared a quorum, and introduced Sharon Roach to the group, who was sworn in as our newest Member. 2. Approval of Minutes: Minutes for the July meeting were approved unanimously. 3.a. Project Updates: Boardwalk TP&W grant project Project is complete. Vikesh stated that the last TP&W reimbursement is pending. 3.b. Kemp Blvd Boat Ramp TP&W grant project: On hold. 3.c. Veteran's Plaza Project: David stated that he and Kathie met with Harry Patterson last week, and clarified that he has provided a $250k donation, with an additional $250k pledged if matching donations or grants can be raised. We will also incorporate a Gold Star Family monument (per the Woody Williams design) halfway down the walkway. Kathie found a TP&W Grant program that is ideal for this project, and has started writing a Grant Application — after discussion we decided to write the application for $250k, since the scope of the Phase One Plaza is set and this amount will be adequate. The Grant application is due in November, so in Sep/Oct we will request City Council approval for a Resolution to formally authorize the City Manager to request the Grant. August 11, 2020 Vikesh stated we will need a cutoff date for Brick purchases, so we can let KHA know how many of each size brick to incorporate into the design. After discussion, it was decided to take the number of Bricks actually ordered to date, at the 90% design stage, and add a cushion to each of the three sizes to allow for Brick purchases after construction starts. Bricks can be engraved (etched) in place. 3.d. Lake Deepening Alternatives Jim Hallock must complete two stages of tests on the lake bed materials, and then he will make Compressed Earth Blocks and test them by the end of August. If the CEBs pass the tests, then we will market the blocks for sale. 4. Subcommittee Reports: None. 5. Discussion of Brick Sales and Fundraising Initiatives: Brick sales have picked up since the Boardwalk Ribbon Cutting ceremony. We will participate in Texoma Gives on Thursday, 10 September, from 6am to 10pm, with KAUZ as our media partner. Kathie requested that Ford and Pete be available for interviews that day, with a firm schedule coming out later. We found out that we can NOT raffle off the smoker during Texoma Gives, so we will plan a separate event later this Fall. 6. Other Business Matters: Terry mentioned that the City recently purchased a parcel of land adjacent the Boat Ramp parking lot. 7. Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 1:48 pm. a lV✓V Da id Coleman, Chair Date August 11, 2020
