Ordinance Authorizing The City Manager To Apply For Grant Funds
From The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program
In The Amount Of $39,217.00 With Co- Applicant, Wichita County,
Texas; Authorizing The City Manager To Execute All Documents To
Accept Said Funds; And Appropriating The City's Share Of This
Grant In The Amount Of $21,569.35 To The Special Revenue Fund.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has been notified that it is eligible for
$39,217.00 from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the City Manager to submit an
application to obtain any available funds from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice
Assistance Grant Program; and,
WHEREAS, these funds will be shared by the Wichita Falls Police Department
($21,569.35) and Wichita County, Texas ($17,647.65), co- applicant for such grant;
and,
WHEREAS, the use of these funds are planned to be used to assist in the
purchase of a Police Traffic Moving Radar System, Semi -Auto Sniper Rifle, 40mm
Multi- Launcher, Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) Cables, Compact Infrared Viewer,
Disposable Transport Hoods, Ultra -Lite 100 Laser, Adobe Photoshop Software,
Desktop Computer and a DVD Copier.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply as a co- applicant to the Edward
Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program for funds in the amount of
$39,217.00, with Wichita County, Texas and execute all documents to accept said
funds; and appropriations are hereby made to the Special Revenue Fund for the City's
share of this grant in the amount of $21,569.35.
