Ordinance Canvassing The Returns Of The General Municipal
Election Held In The City Of Wichita Falls, Texas On May 12, 2012.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls has heretofore called for
a General Election to be held in said City on May 12, 2012, to elect a Mayor, Councilor
District 3, Councilor District 4, and Councilor District 5; and,
WHEREAS, on March 20, 2012 City Clerk Lydia Ozuna certified that the Mayor,
Councilor District 4, and Councilor District 5 positions were unopposed, and that there
were no write -in candidates, and that there were no propositions on the ballot; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 2 of the TExas ELECTION CODE provides for the cancellation
of elections under certain conditions, and Ordinance No. 16- 2012 was adopted by the
City Council of the City of Wichita Falls on March 20, 2012, canceling the elections for
the three unopposed candidates, declaring Glenn Barham elected to the Office of
Mayor, Tim Ingle to the Office of Councilor District 4, and Mary Ward to the Office of
Councilor District 5; and
WHEREAS, election officers who held said election have duly made the returns
of the results thereof, and said returns have been duly delivered to said City Council;
and,
WHEREAS, it is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which
this Ordinance was passed was open to the public, and public notice of the time, place
and purpose of said meeting was given, all as required by the TExas GOVERNMENT
CODE, and,
WHEREAS, after canvassing the official returns of said election, it was found to
be duly and legally held in all respects, and that 436 voters voted in said election,
and that votes were cast as follows:

COUNCILOR DISTRICT 4:

COUNCILOR DISTRICT 5:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Said election was in all respects legally held in accordance with the laws of the
State of Texas and the Charter and the Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls.
The City Council officially finds, determines and declares the results of said
election to be that
Glenn Barham was duly and legally elected Mayor;
Brian Jeffrey Hooker was duly and legally elected Councilor District 3;
Tim Ingle was duly and legally elected Councilor District 4; and
Mary Ward was duly and legally elected Councilor District 5.
