1. CALL TO ORDER:
John Fritzsch called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m.
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes from December 13, 2018 were put before the Board for approval.
Jessica Traw made the motion to approve the minutes and Charlie Zamastil
seconded the motion.
3. DEPARTMENTAL REPORT:
A. RECREATION: Scott McGee
• Lifetime Tennis takes over Hamilton Tennis Center April 1st, 2019
New logo in effect.
• Fishing Rodeo took place March 9t", despite the weather
approximately 150 came out to fish. Thanks to -Texas Parks & Wildlife
and Tom Lang
March Movie Madness was on March 18th thru 21st in during WFISD
spring break. Refreshment was serviced and 150 kids attended.
• Softball, Kickball !sunder way at the Softball Complex. Volleyball,
Indoor soccer registration is going on now.
• Softball Tournament scheduled for March 30t". There are 24 teams
have signed up to play
• Parks & Recreation stage will be at the Health Fair Saturday March
30, 2019.
• Flag Football World Championship tour will take place April 6, for
.adults and April 7t" for youth. Team registration has 30 teams.
• Parks & Recreation Easter Egg Hunt will be Saturday April 6t" at
3:OOpm Lucy Park
0 Summer Hiring going on for camps and swimming pool
B. PARKS: Terry Points
• 8 trees were planted at Hamilton Park from the Medical Alliance
• Hamilton Park splash pad has raised approximately 50 thousand
• The Burn Shop making new bike rack for Hamilton Park
• Over 50 acres has been prepared for the Thor April 6th.
• Sign that says trail ends will soon be gone at Bluff Nature trail
4. Other Business, Announcements, Comments
• Medical alliance will be having a fund raiser for the splash pad
• City will be maintaining splash pad after it's built
• Park Place Church on Fairway Blvd will be building a handicap park
• April 16t" a dedication will take place for the Veterans Memorial at
Lake Wichita.
• Steve Garner requested an update on the Nature Park. Presented by
Marcy Brown Marsden.
