Min 05/11/1927Wichita Falls, Texas. Basement City National May llth, 1927. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular called session at 3:00 o'clock P. M., on the above date with the following members present: R. E. Shepherd, Mayor, Oral Jones, j J. VI. Hunt, ) Aldermen, A. 11. King, ) Roy E. Carter,) :. E. MCBroom, City Clerk. Moved by Alderman King that the Police Department be auth- orized to close the following streets on May 16th and 17th during the convention of the West Texas Chamber of Commerce: Eighth Street from the West Side of Ohio Avenue to the alley between Lamar and Travis Streets; Scott Street from the North Side of Eighth Street -to the North Side of Tenth Street; Scott Street from the North Side of Tenth Street to the North Side of Fourteenth Street; from 12:00 o'clock Noon to 1:00 o'clock A. M. Tuesday, May 17th, only and parking to be prohibited on the following streets on May 16 and 17th: Ohio Avenue from the North side of Seventh Street to the South si e of Eleventh Street; Indiana Avenue from the North side of Seventh Street to the South side of Thirteenth Street; Scott Street from the North side of Seventh Street to the North side of Fourteenth Street; Lamar Street on the North side of Seventh Street to the North side of Fourteenth Street; Eighth, Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh Streets from the West side of Travis Street to the East side of Ohio Avenue; Eleventh, Twelfth and Thirteenth Streets from the East side of Travis to the East side of Ohio Street. Motion seconded by Alderman Jones and carried. ORDINANCE NO. 900 AN ORDINANCE MAKING APPROPRIATION FOR SUPPORT OF THE CITY GOVEPMM T FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING APRIL 1ST, 1927 AND ENDING MARCH 31ST 1928, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Moved by Alderman Jones that Ordinance No.900 be passed on its third and final reading, and be adopted as read. Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried by the fol- lowing vote: Yel:�s: Aldermen Hunt, Jones, King. Nays: Alderman Carter. Moved by Alderman Hunt that the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company be permittea to construct a warehouse and garage at the inter- section of Ervay & Holliday Streets. Motion seconded by Alderman Jones and carried. M., May 23, 1927, on account of the Pest Texas Chamber of Commerce Convention being held in Wichita Falls on this date.
