The Board of Aldermen of the city of Wichita r-alls met in
regular session on the above date with the following members present:

The iAnutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
f;oved by ,Alderman Carter that the complaint with reference
to the tax assessment for the year 1928 against Lot b, Block 1, yatterson
.,ddition, being Building Ido. 109 oriole Street, bereferred to the City
anager with authority to reduce the value to the amount assessed for
the year 1927 if he finds an error has been made in the assessment..

vote of all members present.
i,ioved b- _,lderi,,i n hunt that the claim of the General oil Com-
pany for an adjustment of tax assessments against 29.3 acres in the
John A. Scott Survey, _,bstract i%o. 298, for the years 1921, 1922 and
1923, be referred to the .City i:i:nager with authority to maice an equitable
adjustment.
notion seconded by Alderman Jones and carried by unanimous
vote of all members present.
The hearing on the application of B. Vd. Johnson for a permit
to construct a business building at 2300 Brook °,venue 1,ras called and
after hearing the protests of c. L. Palmer and Marvin Hudson, the fol-
lowing motion was put in order:
bToved by .11derman Carter that the permit be denied for the
following reasons to -wit:
1. The construction of such building would injure property
values,in a strictly residential district.
2. it would be a detriment to the health, peace and comfort
of all surroundii;g property owners.
notion seconded by Alderman Jones and carried by the unanimous
vote of all members present.

&loved. by Alderman Carter that the tax value on the negro lodge
property described as Lot 14, Block 6, Granger-3allew Addition, be re-
duced to :1,250.00 for the years 1925 to 1928, both inclusive, and the
taxes, penalties and interest on over valuation be remitted.
Motion seconded by Alderman Jones and carried by the unanimous
vote of all members present. ,
Moved by Alderman Jones that the Mayor be authorized to execute
a quit -claim deed to a portion of the alley between Seventh and Eighth
Streets and Bluff and Broad Streets to be used for the addition being
built to the Wichita Falls Clinic Hospital on account of the addition
extending out into the alley approximately 22 iJaches .
Motion seconded by Aldermen Carter and carried by unanimous
vote of all members present.
Moved by Alderman Jones that the tax valuation on property owner
by the Wilson & Baxter Company at 707 Indiana Avenue be reduced from
$5,000 to $3,450 for the year 1928.
11otion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried by unanimous vote
of all members present.
Moved by Alderman Hunt that the tax valuation on the stock of
merchandise owned by the W. 1. Grant Company be reduced for the year
1928 from 41;19, 960 to "17500. 00.
;lotion seconded by Alderman Carter and carried by unanimous
vote of all members present.
Moved by Alderman Hunt that the general conference of the
Methodist Epispocal Church South be invited to hold their 1930 meeting
in Wichita Falls.
Motion seconded by Alderman Jones and carried by unanimous
vote of all members present.
Moved by Alderman Hunt that the meeting be adjourned.

The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
